those models are awesome. i love the detail. only thing i could suggest is to think about reducing the poly count a bit, cause your render time might be days at this rate

#18

Thanks, thanks … and thanks again

Some People said, that my “style” is strange, but i seems like it is not that bad … That’s really wunderful to me. Thank you all for the positiv Comments.

The Polycount … Hmmmm … yeah… well, at the moment, a clayrendering of te schieldgenerator takes ~1h. But without radiosity an two lights in the scene, a render takes 29sec. I think this is acceptable.

I drawed a few concepts, but because i don’t have access to a scanner, i m not able to show them. So I had to (TRY to) draw the again digital on the PC. Thats not really my best subjekt, but i tried to show you how the scene will be designed. A Wide-valley. Many technical Buildings (ruins) will follow, which aren’t shown on the concept… The small “black points” a warriors and soldiers. The concept of these soldiers will follow…

Following, the is a concept of a battlefield (the view on the picture is just a concept of the scene, not the final render-view!). The Story will follow, I just have to translate it into english…

*edit

HERE is the concept #1

*edit

I want to show you the Story. I hadn the time to translate it into english, but maybe e few people can read it in german too. But I will translate it soon!

THE STORY:

cool story…
now i know why you hav such big problems to translate it

#20

a bigger version, you can watch at http://www.broken-spirit-design.de/kampfmech/schildgenerator013sum.jpg

#21

Now, this is a schield generator! :bounce:
I dont know how it works (Im waiting to see the entire object), but man, you have a lot of details there. Nice work.
Keep it up!

#22

Thank you, you woll see how it works, if the left arm ist completed Then I will show all the Funktions of the Arm, maybe with a small animation…

Now here you can see the recent WIP. I am working on the shoulder and the upper arm. Some Parts an Details are still missing, but a new WIP will come soon

#23

whoo that is a alot of detail very intresting.
how do you build this thing up? how do you organise it?
is it one big mesh? or do you make parts and parent-child them?
how many polys are you up to?

very nice work so far

wish you best luck

/P

#24

thank you.

well, ist is nor one big mesh. Like you can see at the pictue below, it consists of 382 objekts (this is the amount of objekts in the hole szene, ~20 objects of them are cameras, lights, and other objects).

Each bodypart consists of a grouping of parts. Then theses groups are placed in a special order. For some parts a use “expresso” to manage the angles.
For example:

There are two joints. The joint of the upper arm und the joint af the shoulder. I have made an setup in expresso that ensures, that the joint of the shoulder’s angle moves ecactly like the angle of the upper arm, but divided with 1.4 . so the shoulder move with the arm, but a bit slower.

at the moment i am up to 559408 polys.

#25

WOW! Dense poly-work there! Keep it up! Didn’t quite get the story 'cause it’s been quite a decade or so since I last took German lessons but waiting for updates!

#26

i have a bad habbit to make everything in one mesh.

@terraarc:

Hehe yeah sorry, but i am not able to translate it myself, so i have to find someone to so this. But i will hurry up …

@ PauGfx:

#28

A lot of detail. Do you have a direction?

Thank You, Peter C and kajaba. The Scene will be huge … i hope I can manage it like I want to…
