i am impressiv byyour work.
You are a mesh killer man !
I like ! i like !

#42

Very nice Dominic!! I can’t wait to see it full textured!! Keep on dude!

#43

Thats some impressive modelling. The character looks great. Looking at the knee pads, you could perhaps add shoulder pads aswell (Mad Max style).

ALso, love your alien ship design!

#44

Hey dom, model is getting better and better, Ver nice clean mesh and amazing details.
My only suggestion is if you can add some more details on shoes, like some leather strap or
metal bolts. Just a suggestion.
Overall it looks cool.

#45

tanguy- tks! :stuck_out_tongue: actually i prefer to talk to my meshes, inflicting fear is too drastic to me.

pBarrelas - tks dude. Looking forward to your updates too!

PeterC- tks man. I’ll look into the shoulder pad thing. Though he’s supposed to be a pilot and not a ground trooper.

madshooter-Alright, i’ll do something about the shoes. thanks for pointing that out.

#46

Greetings Dom!

Issit just me, or do the shoulders look a little unnaturally arched forward?
Just a thought…

Cheers
:buttrock:

#47

Keet Mun - damn… you’re right. I’ll pull back the shoulders. I wanted to show that there’s some kinda padding within the suit, guess i need to reinforce that design. tks:thumbsup:

#48

This is good stuff  That aside, I don’t really see why clothes made of cheese would be a problem  … think of it as a very neat way to increase the chances to survive when crashed in the middle of nowhere on a planet with only… er… say, nothing but weetabix.

#49

That’s it. My next character is gonna be dressed be in lingerie made out of cheese… topped with shredded carrot for the wabbits. Do rabbits eat cheese? hmmmm

#50

Since they are more or less rodents, I’m sure they like cheese. There’s also an option called ‘shredded wabbit’ which many claim is quite de-lic-ious… or at least entertaining… but I digress.

#51

dom, your ardent fan is here again to check out your work  hurhur… thats really some fast modelling you’ve got going. the last time i checked it was just a head  anyways, keep the updates coming in man, its looking good

#52

HEck, he might need them if he gets shot down, anyway, in the sci-fi movies, shoulderpads seem more like fashion than a necessary protection

#53

Clothing is looking very good. Your use of wrinkles would make Burne Hogarth proud.

#54

James- Rabbits eat wabbits? Isn’t that cannabalism? You need a shrink badly, I see an impending schizo in you. :scream:

yina- heh thanks. Really I ain’t fast, you should check out the other threads. Anyhow, i’m taking a break for a while… rest a bit.

PeterC- well he IS dead. dahahahhaaa… ermm yeah shoulder pads. will look into that.

WyattHarris- That’s a real nice thing to say. thanks.

Hi Dom,
I like your work.
I visited your website too. Really nice work you have there. :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:
Youre far a better artist than me, no question, (Im just a hobbiest) but I have some critics to your concept.
Your artistic skills are obvious. The sketches are beautiful - there is enought tension and drama, modeling is awesome - details and imagination.
The main concern Im having is that your second sketch is more like a character drama than a Grand Space Opera theme. I think you have to put something in the background to bring the two characters closer to the theme (a battleground after the battle, lots of wreckage, maybe some ships fighting against or trying to destroy the huge cannon, or anything else that can tie the two characters with the Grand Space Opera theme. Its not necessary to be a conflict. I understand that you try to avoid the classic war and massive battle themes.
Maybe my Space Opera theme knoledges are not good enought, but I must say that it will be a sin, with such great skills you have, not to qualify because of the theme. I`m trying to be as gentle as I can, so … please accept my appologies if I was rude.
Good luck Dominique!!!
Looking forward to your WIP.

P.S. - maybe you have something in plan regarding my opinions. If so, it means that my concern is not a an issue.
- I was really asking myself to post or not to post my opinion. Im affraid not to be misunderstood - Please excuse my english spelling, english its not my strongest point.

#56

PROctavian - one word… RELAX… chill man. I’m very… extremely open to all opinions. And your opinion matters to me alright? I totally agree with what you have to say about the grandeur issue, in fact that’s one of my biggest concern now. I have some ideas how to make the background more impressive and grand, they are all churning in my mind now, hopefully when i start working on them, it will be a pleasant surprise  Once again, i must thank you for bringing this point and reinforcing it to me.

PS: in future, just post. don’t worry too much! :bounce: and your english is great

#57

O.K. Dominic. Im glad youre an opened person and also Im glad that everything is under control. Im curious what you will build in your scene and I`m confident it will be a really pleasant surprise and a delight to my eyes! . :bounce:
Keep up the good work.
