Wish i was generous to give away my models! But then, i don’t think anyone would have them anyway.

Sounds like a good idea having a single image split into a few substory type things. Hope it works out!

BTW, everyone, when the contest is over I am going to have the alien characters available for download for personal use, been a while since I have put out any free models for people to use and it is hard to find good models out there for study and practice. I am going to try and have the first alien villager rigged with facial morphs for Maya 6 as well but that will take a little while, I am going to rig them for this shot but will revisit them and make more complex rigs for animating purposes. I know there are some really talented animators out there, that need some help when it comes to good models to animate. I will keep you all informed of the progress on that

lardbros: first off I really dig your signature, makes me laugh. I will keep everyone up to date on the releases of the models, I just want to help out the community, I see it grow stronger every day.

Christophe: I will be putting up ship designs , hopefully, this weekend, I am working out some final details for them before I post, want some stuff that will be as original as humanly possible especially when designing ships. BTW, you can have the models as well, not like you need them, but you can if you want them, anyone can.

and the eyes again, now on to modeling the body and clothes, still wondering about skin color, going to do some color passes before finally texturing him, the pinkish skin color is not final.

okay no update tonight, had to work on a 3d model of an SGI indigo for a friend of mine, he is a big SGI fiend, heehhehe

well my scanner is down I will try and scan the spaceship images at work on monday and post those, I am modeling out the body now so i should have something to post at some point this evening.

thanks Christophe: I tried all weekend to work on it, but with halloween and all it didn’t work out. How’s that new computer working for ya?
I try to get in work on this project whenever I can, but not having Maya at home sucks. I have to manage out my time so that I am not away from home too often working on this. My wiife and the boys wouldn’t be too pleased if I was always away. hehe

he is a little bit more defined than he will be in the final version I am just mainly getting his body structure defined out in the loops for the muscles and underlying bone structure, oonce I finish the model I will then be able to smooth him out and detail him up to be the sad skinny villager he wias meant to be
