Chris Jewell has entered the Grand Space Opera 3D.

Here’s the idea for the spaceship in my scene.

#3

Here’s my idea. I plan on adding a few more ships in the distance with dark clouds and perhaps lightning. I’ll add detail to the ruins as time allows.

#4

I’ve decided on having the battle taking place over water and some submerged ruins. The native species will be riding these eel like creatures. With the head unit attached and rider they can jump out of the water and fly for short periods of time.

#5

Here a little better idea of what I have in mind.

#6

Here another sketch of the creature.

#7

sweet idea, I like the eels concept.

#8

whats the story behind all these concept??

#9

promising sketches man!

#10

Really like the “eel like creatures” too… and like tzktime sayed, is there a story behind these ( very good ;)) sketch?

#11

Cool concept, but I think it would be exciting if it was looking down on the action more, from a greater height, like those WWII dogfight paintings.

Thanks for the comments. The idea actually was influenced by a story I started years ago and never finished when I realized the scope of it. This is just a small part of a much bigger picture. I’ll keep it simple. The Skull ships are scouting for the place of Grayel (a legendary warrior that can draw power from the planets lifestream)the planets only hope of survival and ultimately the universe. The lifestream is a form of liquid energy that runs in veins through the planet and several neighboring ones as well. The Reticularians who pilot the Skull ships are also aware of the power the lifestream holds and have thier own plans on using it to awaken an ancient beast buried in the planet. The race of people that are riding the eel like creatures try to use the environment and creatures of the planet mixed with a little of thier own technology. They know of the Reticularian intent and plan on holding them off long enough to awaken Grayel.

ChrisThatGuy I have to agree with you and I plan on experimenting a little with the composition when I get all the elements modeled.

Thanks again and keep up the great work guys!!

The force is strong with this one. Great idea and concept. Keep up the good work.

The only thing I would add to the eel ships, are beverage holders. How can they fly that thing AND enjoy a frothy Guiness too? Before you know it they would spill their beer all over, then the control systems would short out and they would be history!

Other than that, keep up the good work!

#14

It’s nice to see some ideas using water, and creatures from a distant sea! Can’t wait to see where you go with this concept.

#15

Actually, there is a nano replicator loacted in the front section that produces and feeds the Guiness up through the riders suit to his helmet. So don’t worry, no spills and since the replicator converts the water molecules to Guiness there’s no chance of running out in the middle of a heated battle. Just kidding! Don’t drink and drive kids!

Thanks!

I’ll be posting some models soon!
