#2

Huh nothing yet,
Get working NOW…

Just Kidding, welcome to the challenge.

#3

Heya everyone!

this is only a piece of what i have in mind.

still working conposition ect…

i’m thinking a scene will lots of these thingy’s.

I’ll have some more sketch’s and explain further more what it is, in the near future

for now i’ll call it planet sucker

#4

I like the style of this sketch…

Can’t wait for some updates, are you gonna put some infrastructure on the planet with tons of details ?

I’ll keep looking for updates KEeP iT uP !

#5

Great idea, I hope the end result looks as good as the concept, good luck!

#6

May I add in a request to make this one as gorey as possible? :stuck_out_tongue: I duno, just this image makes me think the character is in some sort of major pain.

#7

I like where you are going with this concept. It is different from what I’v seen so far. You mentioned that it is a planet sucker. ^^ Ever though of turning it around and making the planet grow over time? Perhaps that is how they grow as creatures or living things? Just an idea to think about.

I like the idea of having dozens, if not hundreds of them floating endlessly in space, and it is great that your creatures are huges in size. Space is huge and compared to the size of space itself, these planet size creatures are still specs of dust in comparison.

#8

Very creative concept! How big is the planet and/or the creature?

#9

Thanx for the feed back so far! i will keep it all in mind.

I kind of had a feeling everyone would be doing spaceships and space stations, so that’s why i choose this route.

heres another idea i’m consider.

having only 2 of them side by side similar to Michelangelos fresco of the touch.
http://www.nycerome.com/rome-hotels-images/areas-of-rome-images/st-peter-vatican-area-pictures/sistine-chapel-in-st-peter-rome.jpg

i know it’s somewhat cheeesy but i’m trying to go for a creation of life thingy in outerspace.

what do you guy’s think?

or should i just stick with a scene with lots of them floating around like air balloons?

#10

here is the start of my humanish model.

still have to fix proportions and put a gas mask or some other breathing device on him.

#11

Great start to the modeling so far…can’t wait to see him with all those devices implanted…very original concept I must agree with what everyone else has said…will be waiting to see this one develop !

#12

here is another peice. still will add dangling tubes and stuff on it.

#13

here are the tubes, they will be must longer and will be attatched to the planet.

there are a few on the back also.

planning on using spline curves to rigg them.

#14

Good it is coming along again. Though, if you had made the mask cover the whole head, you would not have had to spend the time modeling the head itself :stuck_out_tongue:

#15

i got bored of laying out UVs so i started making some shaders.

like the greenish material and the black rubber.

will add vent holes in the mask very soon.

#16

heres an early texture of the planet i’m using. sorry i’m kinda working on everything at the same time.

i’m going to be making a bunch if i have time.

still trying to figure out how to get better looking clouds. ect…

was thinking having another layer with alpha and clouds.

#17

Already texturing !! Your pretty fast man, maybe too fast…

I liked your sketch concept but i think you should improved it, talk to us about your composition, the story, how the final images will looks like ? Will there be only one man below a planet … Are you gonna make an entire population of them ? Hope i don’t ask too question at the same time but your idea is very intersting and you cna make something strong with it…

Hope we could see updates soon and a story… Keep it up

#18

Sorry for the lack of updates, been busy job hunting/getting my foot in the door

n e way’s

What I’m trying to get across in this piece is the intergalactic struggle for resources. These planet sucker thingy’s I have here are massive creatures that feed off of planets. There are 2 tubes that are attached to them that they use to strip planets of resources. In the picture above there are 2 of them pulling away another planet suckers lifeless body so they can steal that planet in the foreground. (I will be using those tubes for better eye flow)

There will be much more then of them in the scene, this is just a quick sketch. Think epic battle!

I choose to make them human like cause it is basically what we are doing to the earth as we speak.

Thanx for the post’s btw!
might of missed some stuff so just ask. I will do my best to complete it.

#19

Planet looks ok so far, though may want to add a second map to it. I will be looking forwards to the more crowded scene.

#20

started painting some skin in photoshop, here is a quick render
