Nice change. I like it. But I agree that the haze is to be tweaked. And the buildings seem to bright. And be careful with the colors, because now ir doesn’t look as a sunrise.

thanks for staying “on-line” with my work. Yes, the haze will be different. Imjust wondering oabut the color…? the previous one looked more like a dust, the image was darker and closer to the sunset, now it’s alnoust white, and the feel of sunrise dissapeard… it’s also because I didn’t do any color correction in PS, but still…

thanks, I’m trying to work faster, but now it’s the time of looooooong renderings… With a new year I will work on 2 comuters at one time, so I will speeeeeeed up just before the end. More updates soon…

The haze looks quite right now! I think your only concern will be the decision of the color of the haze… :D… the rest will just follow awsomely…
at this point I have no suggestion…so I’ll be back for updates and with some suggestions!!

• :eek: :eek: :eek: Holly Crap! Very good environment! My only crit: thre is so many spheric buiding, but Lighting is 5 stars, i wish I were i had half the talent you’ve got :thumbsup:

• Another suggestion: Maybe some devasted highways leadyng to the city otherwise it is difficult to imagine why they builded in such a place

• Thanks again for your terrain tutorial, i just wonder why can’t i get so good results :shrug: :smiley:

Hi arturro,

I like the improvements you made. Especially the terrain looks really great. I would suggest that your rear mountains loose their visibility with distance and height to become even more depth into your image.

Climax: thanks for your comment. With the highway it’s agreat idea:bounce: . And maybe I will also change the ground near the city, so that it looked more used… thanks! And as the tutorial is concerned, All the settings are like mine… Maybe use smoother brush for your displacement map; If you have hard borders betwean colors, it won’t look good. Only with some cliffs and high peaks it works… but peaks it is better to do later with editing polys…

Hi guys! updates postponed:(
I was apsent here for a day… My rocks and stones rendered… but the result is terrible, I won’t render them, but add some in post, when I will add forces and the whole battle. I have no idea why they looked so bad(I modelled a few, used scatter and matte’shadow on the ground… when I mixed it in photoshop with the picture, the looked terrible). Yesterday I turned the rendering of tweaked terrain in high resolution… 3636x2657 and after 18 hours of rendering it was done, but then he started to render z-depth picture for the post effects puprose… And an error occured: Mental ray cannot free memory, or something like that, and it crushed. As an effect It didn’s save the rendered picture. So I lost 18 hours, and next 18 for the next render. I will try to correct the stars today, to show something.
In nearest days I will finish the terrain and start to model troops(that will be funny, because it will be my first humanoid)

I’m too weak to help you. I never renderd in a big resolutions and don’t know this error. I can only wish you good luck no more crushes… with the terrain I think that It’s good, and some changes that you would like to make can be rendered separetly and added in PS. Like this roads, or some other damaged buildings or whatever. I think that there is no need to change the terrain itself more… Some minor tweaks can be done in PS. But I understand that you want to start working on the high res picture… So next 18 hours of rendering are in front of you…
well, I’ll be patient and wait for the updates

I am working with V-ray,I am not very familiar with Mental ray…I think you may,in fact have to divide your scene,or add ram…I can only suggest you learn all that you can about compositing…maybe some time will be lost now,but it will save you endless time in the long run,plus give you more open-ended advantages scene wise down the road…I’ll keep a watch out…Also good luck with your first Humanoid Artur…I’ll keep an eye out…Good luck…:arteest:

Thank you very much vor your constant support. It’s really helpful. I’m learning whole the time. And now I read some tuts for the compositing.

At thi smoment I’m rendering the tweaked a little bit terrain in a low res, and then will do the background(I will probably rescale thos render in PS just for for the background works. I want to do my background in the final res…).

And I have joined the “insane christmas-mood avatr group”:twisted: but my bear don’t look like a big Santa’s helper:shrug:

blah… i dont use any program for rendering… use MAYA SOFTWARE :)… so my render will probably last 1-2 h max…
but listen now… i think that problem with mental ray (in ur case ) is… u have to manny objects with same name… ( stone1 , stone1_pasted , etc. ) … so try to clean up that and it will probably render :slight_smile:

thanks Darko, wht the names can be the problem? mental ray crushes only with high res scenes, with normal(1024x768) everything is ok…
I asked masters in mental ray thread on 3dmax thread here… maybe they will help.

well… this is when u use mr in maya… it sometimes doesnt even want to start rendering if u have to manny same names :)… so i check my Hypergraph everytime… :stuck_out_tongue:

i got the same problem arturro whith my scene , personnaly i do my render in
maya software , but if you need absolutely to make you render in mental ray , you can render each parts of your scene in targa format , and after collapse all in your compositing software like after fx, or in my case i use turtle also , no problem whith big resolution… and it’s very easy to use…
