Because i was working the last week on my Battlecruiser, i decided to put some work on the Habitat ring.

The Image is just a simple creation with 3DS-Max and Photoshop.
I was just playing around a litte.
It´s more like a sketch, but it helps me, to get some ideas for the field of view.

(And for the FUN!!)

#45

wow, this is great…reminds me of mine lol…but i’ve yet to model anyhting of the ring,

I look forward to seeign how this progresses
Keep us posted!

Wow - I’ve just found this thread.

Awesome concept, great concept art, and the modelling’s coming along too.
Looking damn sweet is all I can say.

Good luck, and I look forward to seeing this develop, cos I recon it’s gonna truley kick some ass.

Very nice Alexander,a overall nice idea. With lots of promise.I will check up on more as you go.But for now,I like your direction and start on the modeling…:arteest:

#48

I’m really liking your craft models, remind me of a strange mix of Minority Report and the suits the bad guys wear on stargate! hmmm, i thought so anyway!

Keep up the great work, and look forward to seeing more of your modelling!

#49

Wonderful stuff. I love the ring concept and initial views.

#50

hey,

the ring is looking great…wireframe? my only comment is on the scale…if its supposed to have people living in it, it looks small…good luck

#51

Ups! I think my Internetbrowser has it´s own Live

#52

This is just a lighting and cam. test, to see how the light works, to play a little with the Planet Materials and to adjust the coloring.

hmm… I think there is still al lot of to do

#53

Looking good so far.

Obviously the ring is far less detailed that your actual model. The planet has a nice colour scheme to it and contrasts nicely with the rest of the scene.

However, I feel the lighting could do with more contrast, or being stronger - as out in space the contrast between light and shadows is very high. Just my opinion.

[QUOTE=stevetwist]…as out in space the contrast between light and shadows is very high… [QUOTE]

Think that real light will render the scene non-attractive because there are basically two colors: very bright white and very dark black. That’s my opinion.

#55

Very nice progress! I really like the layout of the scene and the good concepts! :applause:

Wish i had some more time on my hands :hmm:

#56

Thanks for the good Critique and Ideas

I think the Coloring needs a lot of work before it´s get to looking great
I will work on this.

The Ring i replaced only for quicker rendering…

however

here is a wireframe from my aktual Modell. (HieSpike)

#57

That looks great  The habitat ring is coming along nicely. One suggestion maybe the moon could be moved to the right a little because its directly behind the ring…

#58

good work, specially like the detail of the ring…

keep up:D

#59

Hey, good Idea.

I will try out that later, stay tuned
