Grand Space Opera 2D Entry: Vinícius de Sá Menezes

I like the first sketch alot. It has got a great dynamic feel. Lots of potential. The debris of the crashing ship in the second image seems a little sparse. Perhaps add some more debris to reinforce that great sense of movement on the right hand side of the image. Good luck!

… now I can see what you going for. Keep it coming… no crits for now.

And I think the composition is good. I also like that the heroin is facing away looking in the distand sky. Gives the whole image the feeling of getting lost, being helpless. The only choice you have is to seat back and look at what you can’t change no more.

Hey guys! YOur replys are really great!
thanks, all of you!
Here is another composition study. I put the great “snake ship”…it’s like a headquarter for the bikers. Well… they are going to the burning city at background.

#24

Excellent sketches!!!The last one is great(and the first)
Maybe if you put the crashed part of the ship and the girl a little more to the left you’ll got some space left to do the reflections of the burning city into the water.
And maybe it could also give a little more dynamics if the skyline would be a liitle less flat and more bolded(or rounded?)
sorry, broken english is in the place:D
I’ll sure be watching!!!

awesome composition! it’s very dynamic and animated! i wish i oculd identify everything in the scene, but i guess i’ll just have to wait :stuck_out_tongue:

#26

this is a color study…the main idea is a swamp bioluminescence…

#27

looks good , as usual

#28

Very good color choice. Strongens the composition and brings the main figure even more to my attention. Good flow…

i llike your compositon ! i 'm a noob in coloring , but in my opionion I think your color is too satureate , maybe u can desaturate it a little bit ! any way after check your machineflesh entry … nothing to crits!!

#30

I´d find it even more interesting if the sky wasn´t using the same greens as well. Maybe add some blueish tones to it or more towards orange.

just my two cents

#31

I like this, a little too angled for me, maybe kick it back to the left about 15 degerees?

#32

It’s looking good BT. Not much to comment on since this is stil pretty early on, but I would say I think the ship, or escape pod, or whatever that is in the water should be tilted more. That would make it look like it’s sinking a bit rather than just hovering on top of the water. It would also make the pose of the girl more interesting.

#33

Great colorscheme!!!More,more :bounce:

It would be nice to see her hair blowing in the same direction that the ships are going. It would look like the air is comming from tha passing planes. I like the new changes.

Compositions studies…well. Some feedback its gonna be great in that stage!

#38

The pivotal moment thingy’s missing, but your style’s great and I’d like to see every one of these finished

#39

hello

i believe your very first concept has the most potential for a dramatic image, but unless you find a believable ‘reason’ behind this pan-galactic gang war, you will be missing the pivotal thingy:)

keep to this concept plz,it;s risky but it;s very original

#40

hey guys!

giza-di and coCoKNIght: I know about the pivot thing… my idea is show (in the back of this compositions) the destruction of base (or ship) that represents battle’s end. One of the gang is defeated…(girl’s gang)…what you think?
sorry for poor english

thx a lot guys!
