Grand Space Opera 2D Entry: Vincent Verniers

Mental note: put some sort of half naked 2meter sword wielding fantasy chick in space somehow…

Anyhoo… GOod luck

#8

hmmmmmmmm… how about a space city built upon the remains of a dragons skeleton, or built INTO it, like along the curves of the ribs sticking up and have the cities wrapping around those and of course the bones showing in alot of spots. And ships using the skull as a spaceship hangar. Well something like that, incoperate a fantasy enviroment.

#9

Yep,this space-dragon(city) thing could be great!
When?when?

Aller Neo come on,faut s’y mettre la!

#10

yeah i come I come^^ this week end i post first sketches^^

#11

This is a little concept of an air fighter , speed , smart and furtive this is the BAT.
Sort of elite members of airforces Ezathies (the civilisation in conflict with Elayies)

quick done but just to give idea of it looking

but I think I’ll set the scene before detailling each aprts

#12

man where were you when I needed a ship design
excellent work!

#13

looks great dude, doesn’t look like you’ll have any trouble illustrating your idea… however, you’re right, the most important thing to focus on right now would be a story concept for it all. Because as of right now, as great as the ship looks, it has no purpose… just simply another ship in the sky. Create a story and find a fantastic image around your concept
good luck!

#14

 Nice shape on that ship Design, looking forward to seeing Development

Very nice design, quick, clean, and expressive!

Great progress. looking forward to more!

#16

Ok,c’est vraiment chouette ce ship!!!Maintenant story et plus svp!!!

Yap,nice ship man!!But like Steve I think too it’s important to create a kind of storyline to better intergrate yourself into your world before creating the visual part.
So curious for the rest!!!
Later alligator;)

ok okmer… Yes I’ll develop the general idea first i think…
nearly
thx everyone for comments

#18

This is my first composition concept.
This is a big city that will be attacked by airforces by night

i’ll try to play with lights in the night to enhence burning effects…

#19

Interesting composition, the angel is nice too!

What would make the composition more “grand” is if the buidlings go very very deep downwards. It seems that the roads or paths between the buildings makes them very short for a futuristic setting. Perhaps there could be bridges between the buildings but the buildings themselves are very tall. It would really make an impact I think.

What do you think?

#20

Yap,nice angel man!Indeed I would also enlarge a little bit the image on the sides to get a better few of the city and more deepness.
Well waiting for the rest, keep it up!!

Later…

The angle is great keep that … . but get a story mate. Might give you more direction or other different approaches to the image. Will see how this progresses.

#22

thx all men

Yeah I’ll keep this angle and composition
but I’ll make more deep downward yes

enlarge the view coold be cool… but because of the “futur” level of detail on this piece , I can’t… I’ll see later if possible is…

#23

another concept in the way of the second…

the night is cool for atmosphere but it make disapear details and all colors effects except lights
I dunno If i’ll do a night scene or one during teh day.

#24

Honestly, i prefer previous composition the recent one. You lost some of dynamic with this wider angle of camera. Night scen dosn’t really mean taht you will have less detrailed scene. It gives a lot of possibilites. Good using of artifictial light sources can give You great mood and well visible detail.

#25

I totally agree for dynamic… and for artificial lights possibilities…
I’ll explore all this to get the best option
thx for helping man

Hi,
I like the spotlights on your never-ending towers : it reminds me concept sketches for Blade runner.
What’s the story about ?
