Hello!
Well, itās my first CG Challengeā¦
First building conceptā¦itās the beginningā¦
Grand Space Opera 2D Entry: Olivier Derouetteau
Cool concepts. I love the idea of the opening on the top of the buildings. Perhaps oriented solar gain on specific hours of the dayā¦like flowers and photosynthesis.
Great stuff olivier - clean, concise and easy-to-read sketches. The architectural style is quite interesting tooā¦Iām looking forward to seeing how this developsā¦
One thing, can you give a bit of background or context?
cheers
g
Those designs are great, nice and clean. I canāt wait to see what you have planned for the whole scene.
Very nice sketches! Crisp & cleanā¦i like that. But where do the antennas go when the tops open ?
Thx everybody,
Unitstudio>> There 's no background, no context yet, iām just trying to find interesting design.
Itās only 2 concepts sketchs of space cities, but i am not very satisfiedā¦itās not original.
It looks like other citiesā¦
I love the colors sets.
Maybe a little more of dynamism in the layout and a little bit more of āSCIFIā items would be nice!
Keep on drawing the āold fashionā space opera style!
Good luck my friend for the contest
Yes Mr Starbuck, a little bit of dynasmism should be betterā¦and find other compositions too, I think
Thx my friend
hello everybody,
Here a new āspeed compoā.I am testing other colors and small spaceships.Perhaps it should be to add a big spaceship in the backgroundā¦
First Concept- I like the blue tone in this a lot, and the overall piece seems more interesting. However, I do think that the large building on the left (the one right in front) feels odd- if you go with this, you might want to make that a group of smaller buildings, or something else entirely.
Second Concept- While I preferred the blue tone, the yellow hues in this are just fine as well, and its actually more detailed. My only gripe is that the other concept somehow seems more grand, perhaps due to the size of the ships (and the number of them)
Anyway, Iāll keep an eye out for more progress.
Re: color sketch
Very nice sketch. The bright band of gas under the middle two ships is taking away from the pieceās depth a little though.
The ānew compositionā is nice too, but doesnāt feel as grand as the ācolour sketchā.
the second concept is best and most fitting by far, but i just can;t see anything TRULY epic:shrug: ā¦looks nice but still needs a few more elements for drama
ilove2d - Iām really liking those black and white concept sheets you did. Both of your colour pieces show a lot of promise, but thereās nothing really to guage a sense of scale. If youāre going to stick with smooth forms, and thereās not reason you shouldnāt, perhaps you need some humans in there somehow? That blue sketch is lovely, something very classic SF about it, but the yellow one, it looks good but itās like someoneās spaceship spotting rather than an epic event unfolding. Good use of colour, mind. Keep 'em coming! ![]()
Very unique styling and nice use of colours. Like the tonal values used in the blue concept. It gives a sense mystical sci-fi mood. Maybe off aligning one of the ships would look better, at the moment it seems as though both ships are placed in there just to fit the image area. The yellow version looks like they are on a mission, its got movement. Love to see more of it.
Hi everybody,
Thx for your commentsā¦
Speaky>> yes Iāam agree, some humans should be interesting and Iāam not satisfied by the two compositionsā¦
giza-di>> it looks nice , yes ⦠and there is nothing truly epic; thatās right.
Well, I think it should be better to find a composition with humans and a really epic sceneā¦
I would like keep this Idea of ābubble space citiesāā¦
Thx again for all comments
