ey art2, those designs look great, are you going to keep the older ships? (the belt ones)
I think they looked a bit too human, too much like nowadays’ jets, the new ones are really cool, between the 2 latest versions I prefer the one with the lateral fins, it looks more “complete” to me, but they both would make it, good job!

These are actually Belt ship designs.
I used the older designs as some sort of inspiration.

Glad you like 'em. Hope I can come up with some new designs for the Fenris ships.
(note to self: think sleeker, newer, faster, stealthier, sexier…)

ok, they looked to me quite new and fast, that’s why I thought it was fed. ships, if this are the old belt ones I’ll be very interested in seeing the newer and faster fed. ships! :wink:

(idea/sugerence: what about adding some visible weapons?)

:applause: very sleek design, as for weapons. How about a top mounted, central, forward facing pulse canon? nothing to big and bulky, just a simple design that maybe comes out of a panel. I asume this is a one manned vehicle?

The design is already pretty top-heavy, I would stick either one large gun underneath the main body, or two smaller cannons on the wings. I might also round out the cockpit a bit, I think it would look a little more slick and futuristic than having it blocked off.

Thanks guys. I blocked the cockpit off on purpose :smiley: I didn’t want it to look too slick, I want to reserve that feature for the Fenris fighters. But I agree the cockpit need more work, maybe metal rims (sorry don’t know the english word…) to make it look more “50ies”.

Here’s a sketch I did in Painter, think I’m gonna explore your great suggestions.

Hi Art2! I really like concept 02 and your last sketch for gun placement! The flags are cool and will help get across the idea of the differing factions…be sure to paint it on the ships!

the ships look alot like fighter planes - and I liek teh fact they’re not completely obviously aerdynmaic or supersmooth - adds a practical realism :slight_smile:

Wicked stuff! Only one complaint - the Beld dudes in my opinion should have bit more
ragtag/do-it-yourself style in ships, maybe some contraptions like shields to keep the
craft protected to some extent from the gazillions of rocks in the belt. Nothing fancy
just a plate of metal sticking out from the hull or something like that… sorry I cant explain it exactly... Im better at drawing than speech :]

Ganthu: you explained it very well my friend. Very interesting idea, I think I’ll go for shields like those found in StarTrek. I definately aim for a ragtag-look for the Belt ships.
When I started this I had this idea of StarWars vs. StarTrek look (StarTrek beeing the Fenris guys). Thanks for the input!

This is a quick study. I wanted to see them in action too :slight_smile:
This is not at all the final composition.

From this little study I can conclude that I still have to design lots of stuff. Like the astroids & gunplacements, Fenris battlecruisers, The planet etc, etc. And of course some faces behind the battle.
I hope the differences in technology is made clear by the two fighter designs. I will try to keep this in all the other designs.
