Christopher Davis has entered the Grand Space Opera 2D.

The idea here is a character on the back of a big winged creature raising his arms in triumph and pointing to the invading spaceships overhead. Behind him is his woman, slightly exasperated at the coming showdown. All around the big creature are fellow citizens also whooping it up to take the fight to the enemy ships. Implied is the romance between the man/woman, the epic nature of duelling civilizations.

Just a thumbnail right now.

Great start, Goodluck

Nice start.
Prefer the dramatic angle in the image on the right.
Good luck.

Love the concept, and the 2nd composition, is the civilization on the ground more primitive than the invaders or just different? Something to think about…

I like this a lot except the part where the creature wings tangent off on the sides 1/3 down from the top. I wanted to be close enough to focus on the characters - man and woman - riding on its back, so the wings had to be cut off somehow…

Anyway, I might tweak it a bit. Stil with color it’ll come alive hopefully!

The ships above are supposed to be a different race. I will make them more dark and kind of pointy, while the civilization in the foreground will be lighter and more “good guy.”

 coming along nicely

Nice concept. Certainly has an epic feel to it. My only crit would be that the ships above them seem to be falling because they are all drawn on different perspective lines. Maybe if they were in some kind of attack formation?
