Grand Space Opera 2D Entry: Branko Bistrovic

#78

Well, this is the final work for tonight. I’m almost where I was with the other pose/concept. Tomorrow I’ll throw in the ships/individuals, and hope for the best.

#79

okay, here is a starting feel. Wanted somthing a little organic but still indutrial…

#80

Nice feeling, a little klunky though and too organic.

#81

I think I’ll go with something along these lines. Some organic feel, but still industrial. the balance will work well for me once i tilt it.

#82

I’m tilting the ship, make it seem like it’s caving into the gaping mouth.

#83

Give it more of a silhouete look.

#84

Some backlighting. ROUGH… ROUGH backlighting.

#85

Played with the Layer: HardLight.

#86

Testing out the boundries… if there really are any.

#87

Backing it up. Full canvas, but no body.
Amd trying to give a sort of essence feel behin the deity. Maybe I’ll make him a little tranclucent so that the red gasseous vapours show through.

#88

Added the filler for the body. Keeping it dark, so that the higlights are that much more impactual…SHWWAAAM!

#89

and then erased out of it. These aren’t really the highlights, more the moulding for the piece… not sure about the brightness of it…

#90

And this is what the wee little strands of hair… I don’t know, I think I’ll edxpand on them so that they resemble my actual concept sketch. Problem is that I don’t want him/her looking too human… or the strands really looking like actual hair.

#91

Added some red highlight to the background. Started shaping up, “space”

#92

A little bit of highlite

#93

I’m not sure if i like the fact that the white seems to cover the deities head. I want to make the light seem as though it’s coming from behind, it’s not really feeling like that at the moment…

#94

Starting to try and push back the cosmic light.

#95

I’m going to have a whole snot load of cleaning up to do once I’m done with all of this…

#96

Added a smile, along with shaping up the face some.

#97

Have been shaping the hand and arm. Gave it a sort of omnious feel with the dark red.
