Alright, so my first of first!
What we have here is the moment of both defeat and victory that we’ve stood witness to in so many great epics. The figure on the mid right standing is of course the conqueror, while the pathetic hump of a once great leader grovels to the right of him. I’m thinking of having a ripped apart cloak on the defeated and then on the left side of the screen, much closer to us, having a part of the cloak piece dangling from a corner of a nearby instrument panel, as though it was ripped there during a battle. And beside it will also be an elegant blood splatter. Anyways, more roughs to come, it’s just a big rough up in my noggin anyways.
There on the left is the cape piece. Also, I placed them in a obviously rough setting. They are standing on a very thin platform that’s hovering over a humongous command room, from which they are gazing out upon a fleet that is about to destroy either another fleet, or an unfortunate planet…nyah, what you gonna do shrugs…
I’m trying to feel the placement, but am not doing a good job expressing it on the thumbs. I’ll try further tomorrow. I’m going for something moody sad… yes, mooody sad.
I don’t know… I’m feeling this in my head, but on paper it’s just not coming together. I’m imagining a strong widescreen shot, more wide creen then the one I got here. I want the figures to be a central point in the pic but it’s just very difficult since they are so small and away from the vanishing point. I was thinking of using the exhaust light from the space ship on the right, to illuminate very obvious silhouets of the two souls.
I’m not sure how it’ll turn out. I might try to render iit just for the kicks.
It’s a pain painting with a mouse though, no, I mean literally.
Sorry for the sketch quality, but it is a sketch!
Rasdasa, i saw every single sketch you made in the daily sketch group here…and i tell you from now…you got my vote !!
I like this last sketch a lot too Rasdasa! Keep on going, you may not be feeling it, but the scale of it speaks to me. I like it!
DM and Robin: Thanks for the votes of confidence, it’s nice to hear, I just wish it could speak to me! I’ll keep working on it. I’ve got some others I’ll post later.
Mysterious X: Don’t do that! It’ll throw off the delicate balance of things, only vote for me
when you feel it in your bowels:love:
Thanks for the kind words though, it’s wiered to have an admirer.
These sketches are of a race come head to head with an omnipotent entity of some sort. He holds them in his hand like they are miniture toys…
The idea behind this one is that the omnipotent entity is swallowing up the great heroes and villains of our time, both fictional and real. So there would be little figures of anyone from Hulk, Gandhi, Hitler, Superman, Darth Vader, blah blah blah. Ther reason I like this one is because it’ll be more inclusive for community feedback. This way I can get input for who to choose to render as figures being consumed. kind of like a vote off, or such.
The reason I don’t like it, aside from having to render a mini figure of hitler, is that it seem pretty freaking impossible for some of the characters, since I wan’t them so small, to actualy depict who they are. Maybe a summerization of iconic colours to represent what they stood for. So the colour of Superman will give away immediatly that it’s superman, seems harder with gandhi though. I guess his oversized head might help…
Also, it’s sort of corney to have Hitler and Spiderman in the same picture. Reminds me of some sort of government sponsored WW2 comic book. Except of course Spider-man wasn’t out by then… anyways…
ehem…no, you shut up.
Same sort of idea as the last two, except really wide screen… I like this one. It would be surreal, and I could do so much cool rendering on the freak-of-a-god’s body.
Here is another meeting, except now the ships of some distant civilication have come accross a four eyed(or 8 head on) entity… ooo, scarrryyy… Frankly, I like it.
Rasdasa, it’s a month without new concept sketches and now I’m sending out a search party. I like the widescreen omnipotent god creature best so far. Mini Hulk and Hitlers wouldn’t work, as we’re supposed to come up with an entirely new set of characters. Maybe Mini Hunk and Shitler, but. . .
Anyway, the god creature reminds me of the starchild from 2001, now all grown up and ready to shed enlightenment on some lucky planet. And he’s cute, too!
Thank you likesoup, I’ve been doing sketches and such but School and co-op combined equal a HARSH HARSH mistress. I’m planning to add alot more starting next week, when I finally go on christmas vacation. I’m not sure about the swallowing deity since he doesn’t seem quite immense enough if I have to render the figures he is swallowing discernably. I have a few others I’m going to post. I appreciate you taking the time though, but don’t worry I’m not out, just absolutly swamped. Guess what I’m going to go do knoww… that’s right, more homework. Perspective(angled reflections) to be exact.
I’ll be posting soon, peace out!

HA! Schools out and 'm back. Now to sit down and bite into it.
One of two I’m thinking about.
This expands on my idea of a greater entity swallowing a civilization one individual at a time.
-rasdasa
Here is the other one I am considering. It’s a rpofile view of the civilization coming accross an enigmatic deity…oooo
Hell, I like this one alot, I think i’;; do this one first, and then the other one if there is time.
