Cool concept, looks like a jelly fish of some sort. I really like the bad guy design. I visited your site too. Cool stuff! Iā€™d like to see what youā€™re planning to do soon. Keep us updated.

The colors in this are impeccable- the final drawing will look amazing with this pallette, great stuff :).
As for the overall concept, colors aside, I think the background (space and planet both) need to be a lot larger than the ship (unless you add other ships). Right now, it just havent doesnt have the grand feel needed in the contest.
Another idea could be a more apparent light source, perhaps in the nebula behind it- that alone might give it a more epic feel.

cool sketch, be careful with the values of the planet in the lower right, if thats what it is, because the dark rippling is making it read as a rippled disc form, almost like and interpretation of what a black hole may look like if you could actually see it. The ship idea is rather strong, maybe the purple nebulas in space donā€™t have to parallel the curve of the planet? good luck!

@sidchagan, Hillartsympho, Neozoom - thank you very much for comments and critics, im still out of complete idea what im doing. Ive never painted a space scene before, so im a bit lost in techniques and colors to use, and im just testing around with different ones. I think im goin to change a bit the original idea, but i need some story firstā€¦ Ill take a small pause to rethink all the stuff i have so far, and hopefully ill get the view on what iĀ“ll do in the future. Thank you once again, your suggestions and critics helped alot! Cheers! :slight_smile:

Looking good so far, Bars! I especially like the palette in that last post of yours. The blues and purples from the earlier shot are nice for a serene space scene, but the reds really scream ā€˜conflictā€™ and ā€˜tension,ā€™ which is the whole point of this excercise, and youā€™ve utilized them very well here. Looking forward to seeing how it comes out!
