looks like it could be nice and epic. Might wanna toy around with layout size too to fit all of that in so it’s large but not crowded.
Grand Space Opera 2D Entry: Alexandre TUIS
Hey Nice sketch here! It reminds me work of H.R.Giger.Are you sure that it’s wise to add some large object on background? Im not sure.Picture looks perfect as it is to me.I thing that huge background object could overburden whole work.Looking forward to see your piece more detailed.
yeah your first strokes give the ships a very organic feel. Not sure if that´s intentional but the design is interesting anyway.
I think this piece would be pretty impressive in a wider, ‘letterbox’-style frame. Looking forward to seeing more.
malcolmvexxed< Well this is just the sketch…the disposition of few ships and other thing could change a little.
The colors make the difference too, sometimes.
HiPcCuP23< Well Thank you, I have made an Alien recently and it is certainly for that…LOL
For the background I will see with the color how it works.
MrD< Yes it wasn’t really intentional. But this is interesting to create forms.
ChrisThatGuy< Yep, maybe I will scaling few elements.
Lovely start…all sorts of thoughts running around when you look at this…nice.
Paul
I have made the principal base for the giant ship.
I will work on the details now.
A long and hard work…

Very cool, Mr. Riddick! That shaped right up, and is looking great. I won’t comment on the rendering and finishes becuase you said that you’re still working on them, but i will make one small note, if you don’t mind: With so much of the ship beautifully curvy, the rectangular flaps or protrusions at the end of the wings seem a little rectilinear and out of place. I confess that I like them in your rough a but better, where instead of being blunted they were sharp and pointy - fit the feel of the rest of the ship, and it was more menacing!
Best of luck, can’t wait to see it coming further along!

hey welcome back , dude !
nice start you got there , are you sure
you’re not going to put any characters in the pic ?
Oh yes!! Thank you for the advice!
But this is really unfinished. And more I make details on the ship and more I modeling him.
So, be patient!
Yap,difficult to have crits in this early stade. But the concepts looks really nice.
Indeed it could be cool to have a character or something like that in the foreground to put some more depth morely.
Anyway very nice and good luck!!!
Squibbit and OKMER, it is not too much complicate to put a character at a moment or an other one in the drawing.
I would see later.
I’m actually working on the big ship, so I have made a close-up on him.
I will make a lot of details on the entire ship and something like the relief wich you can see on the behind of the machine.
And after that. The rest of the picture…the other ships, the explosions…
More details and structure on the big space ship.
A lot of thing on the top of the ship missing, and the artillery.
Hi, all my encouragement for your GSO, I waits to see the continuation
of your project the ship is well detailed and a little “Giger” I
like its design. Good road.
I advance quite easy on this project.
But I hope to finish it in time.
Thank you Tranchefeux for the hugs!
hi, quite nice, defintely a lot of giger influence here
nought wrong with that. I think the image would benefit, if the idea is to convey motion of central ships, to black out (top left corner) those little vessels. Just a thought…
Hi Alexandre
Great ship designs. I think some other people have made similar comments, but have you tried getting more of a sense of space in your composition? There is very little negative space between the elements of your painting. If the ships were smaller, or your canvas was bigger, I think it would feel a bit more “open.” You could also try overlapping your ships and objects a bit more, so there is a sense of behind/in front of, in particular the two largest ships.
Good work, keep it up!
Where the hell did you get the idea and inspiration for the design of the spaceship? It is really good.I like it a lot. As for critics i would say the same thing as Francis Tsai.Anyway keep up the good work man.Keep updating, wanna see more:buttrock:
