GoZ refuses to remember what apps I don't have?

#1

Ok, I’m sure I’m being a complete dunce in here somewhere, but I’m at wits end figuring this out. When i configure GoZ, it goes through it’s long dance of searching for various apps, properly finding what’s actually there. It saves things, things seem to work…until I close and re-open Zbrush. Suddenly, GoZ has amnesia and refuses to work until it again spends 5 minutes searching for installed apps.

What am I missing here?

are you doing this under preferences >goz
or tool>R top icon rest goz

could try preferences >goz>clear cache files
or force reinstall or update all path

I figured it out! (I think) And to avoid this sort of thing… http://xkcd.com/979/

I have Zbrush installed on my SSD, but to keep it from trashing my SSD with all my GoZ files, I symlinked the projects folder to my projects hard drive. I didn’t bother to symlink the GoZApps and GoZBrush folders, I just left them in place on the SSD figuring it wouldn’t matter. Apparently it does. I moved them next to where I’d put the real GoZProjects folder on my hard drive, then symlinked them back to the SSD. All seems to be working now.
