Good Bridge Tool??

#1

Ok, here it is… my son and I are sitiing here boxing out a pipe frame dunebuggy… so… the question comes, do you really have to bridge all the influence extrudes one bridge at a time?

As regards usinig the Bridge tool itself - yes - it can only cope with one pair of faces with an equal No of verts etc.

However, depending on the exact nature of the shape / frame involved It may be possible to use a certain level of cunning.

eg - Assuming the shape is symmetrical about one acis, do one side and mirror the other (then deal with unique stuff like diagonal bracings etc) - remember to mirror about one end only and then use Object | Weld.

If you have transverse elements crossing the mirror plane at rt. angles, extrude all these at the same time to the mirror plane (or higgledy piggledy and use flatten to true up ends to the mirror plane etc)

Without knowing more about the shape involved, can’t really add any more.

Some bridge / weld info if of use / interest

Possible to extrude multiple and then weld multiple ?

Again … hard to offer a good go-around w/o a picture or something.

hey guys, sorry it took so long to get back to yas…

anyways, hmmm, never even crossed my mind to mirror

as for the model… well, it would be a pipe frame… so the method I would take ( unless someone offers up an easier way  ), would be to place cube, select cube and duplicate say z… select both and duplicate x… etc…y… then select inside faces and do a slight extrude for influence to be kept close to cube for tight corners upon smoothing… anyways, then as suggested, I would select the faces two by two and bridge… even with a minimal frame say six cubes along z, by two cubes along x and three high at the cab rollbar height is 68 faces extruded to be bridged 2x2… hahaha…

so, would the mirror work on this? is there an easier method?
