Hi It’s me again. I recently read “The New Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain” any other good books to read like this? Preferably on comic book styles and maybe (I don’t really know about it) Manga style?
Good books to learn various art styles?
There are so many new books on those subjects published constantly that it’s impossible to keep up with them. Most of the books for comic book/manga styles aren’t very good, and generally speaking, if you are serious about your artistic development, those are not the kind of books you should be learning from. What you need are the books that teach the critical foundations of visual art, and then you can supplement that important foundation with stylistic tutorial books. The sticky thread at the top of the the Art T&T form has book recommendations for those essential foundations.
Thanks for the info sir. I was aware that most book on those styles are bad I just thought that there was one or two I was unaware of. Sorry for clogging the forum, I shall check out those two threads that you mentioned.
i currently do not have the funds to purchase Photoshop or a decent Graphics Tablet. I am currently learning to draw via pencil and paper.
