Going from mll to code

#1

I think I may know the answer to this one already. Is it possible to take a *.mll file and see the c++ code in it, I suppose its called reverse engineering.

I want to see how some of the plugins on highend3d where put together (to aid my learning), but seeing as the code is complied I’m guessing no.

It’s a difficult thing to deassemble a release build of a DLL. Probably not worth the time. Most people who releases plugins on highend3d are very nice and will most likely answer to your questions regarding their plugins (I’ve done it several times :)).

perhaps not the direct answer to your question but its at least a tip-off!

You might know this already, but check out the ‘devkit’ folder that comes with the maya installation. It contains the c++ for lots of example plugins - there’s pretty much an example for everything

i didn’t but thanks a ton, I will have a sift through them.
