you’ll be miss by many
It’s too sad that great people go away…
I wish to give my condolesces to his family, for I am sure he will be missed (as an aspiring illustrator his art has been a great source of inspiration).
Here is a link to a remembrance of Glen Angus, in the context of Magic: The Gathering art:
Gosh… Deeply sad now. Condolences to his family and friends. He has been an influence in my life.
A truly wonderful artist that will be sorely missed amongst the CGI community. My thoughts are with his friends and family in their hour of grief.
Like so many have already said, he came off as a very kind and giving person. Our community has lost one of our brightest stars.
Just knowing that I’ll never see “CGSociety notification - gangus has posted a new image” in my inbox again makes me sincerely sad. I always got excited when I got those.

. . . . (tears). . . . . I don’t believe it.
I stayed with his work, and knew of his art really well. I do a lot of female paintings, and Glen was one person who had the same interest, and who I kept an eye on as an artist. I also knew about his autistic son and wrote emails that he asked us to write for him. His work increasingly showed more and more promise, and he was excelling at a good pace. It’s really unbelievable to hear he died about a week ago.
I’m sorry (to Glen’s wife, friends, and family). God has him now, and he is doing fine, I’m sure. Life is just a small journey to a more big one. Life is filled with pain, but the other side is filled with a lot of bliss, so I hear. It’s hard to let go, for those closest to him in life. And I support them as well. The bright side is he completed his task in life. He came into life to do exactly what he did. He triumphed and he wins in the end.
Thanks for doing this CGTalk. Life is more about the people than the art itself, and it’s a great service that you’re taking the time and telling us about this great artist who is a valuable person to us.
Glenn will be missed. I can only hope God will bless Glenn, his children, his wife, his friends, and those closely tied to him. It’s never a good feeling to lose a loved-one.
I had a dream of losing my father once, and though I really don’t like my father, I couldn’t tell you the indescribable sadness I felt. I also had a dream of an acquaintance who got pushed of my school’s balcony that was about 4 stories up. I woke up gasping for air. These deaths were only dreams and temporary. Your pain is nothing I can understand.
I also understand the lesson that no amount of pain you could feel can bring Glen back. It’s good to morn for some time to heal, but life has to go on afterwards, and for those closest to Glen, too much morning can actually hurt yourself from wanting to participate in life any more, and to reach any further. I can understand going on, when you have nothing to go on for. I’ve been doing it for months. It’s hard. But in your case, it may be very hard. But to stay where you are, you will never get anywhere other than where you are. It keeps me pushing on. Sadness is no place anyone wants to be, or stay. There is a great power in every person to eventually overcome any harshness that life gives to you. We are such adaptive beings. It’s in the silence of a person that he or she can find the power to heal, endure, and a force to overcome a life challenge.
One practical lesson I tried is, pain vanishes the more you can focus on it. Where do you feel it in your body? When you can pinpoint it, and stay focused on it, it vanishes like magic. Emotional pain ceases to exist. Focus on your thoughts too, and eventually try not to rerun any mental movies of Glen that will cause you more pain. I hope you’ll try it. And if you hurt too much, find some time to pray to God, and to be with them. You’ll know when they come to you. You’ll cry so much.
. . . Sadness has to eventually be traded for happiness, and the need to live to experience the joy and for people that are here now, like Glen’s children. Anyone of them can be taken away at any moment’s time.
I saw a young woman on Montel Williams who had everyone around her dying. I think it was like 4-5 people who died in a some years time. It’s sad, but it happens to people. It’s life for some people, but I think there is a lesson that can be learned from what’s happened to her.
But again, there is no way I can understand what your going through.
But there is another bright side. There are people called psychics and channelers to contact passed-over loved ones.
The way I understand it, psychics can give you streams of information from passed-over loved ones because they are quite powerful. Channelers can give you bits of valuable information, but are not as strong as psychics.
Psychics and channelers have the capability to contact others on the other side. You can contact Glen when you can’t bear it anymore.
Sylvia Browne is a popular psychic, but she is expensive. Another one is John Edwards who is a channeler.

Even if you don’t believe in psychics, try it. You never really know until you try it, right? You’ll understand that Glen is okay. It’s you that’s not.
I wish you goodluck, and I hope you find peace.
What wonderfull work he left! I wish his loved ones strength. William Wallace wrote: “Evey man dies - Not every man really lives.” It looks like this man lived well.

My deepest condolences to friends and family.
His art was both inspirational and something to aspire to for many.
Although body is not with us,
His inspiration brought us light even in the night.
Artist life, a hard life,
but a joy shows in his Art.
My best regards and best wishes to his family and friends…
May God free your soul and let you paint as you always have.
Fly High, FLy like a bird and spread your wings like a Silver Angel.
