A Game Engineering Manager (GEM) at Centerscore will drive all aspects of engineering for multiple simultaneous projects. A GEM works and supervises the design, the architecture, and the implementation of these projects. The GEM’s primary responsibility will be managing engineers and coordinating their work closely with designers, artists, and producers. The manager will be in charge of growing the engineering team by hiring the right candidates to build up a strong development team.Responsibilities:
- Direct management of a team of developers
- Grow the development team
- Responsible for reviews of individual developers and the team.
- Work with the development team to create realistic milestones
- Identify and address problems in production and release
- Conduct Code and Design reviews
- Maintain technical knowledge through development and debugging live projects
- Improve the development process, including managing the enhancement of tools, communications, and work flow between departments
Requirements:
- BS in CS or EE or equivalent professional experience
- Minimum of 2 years of direct report management experience
- Minimum of 4 years of game development experience, with 2+ years in a lead position
- Ability to create and evaluate development plans and project schedules
- Solid grasp of C/C++ and Java
- Good communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Self motivated with a strong work ethic
- Desire to participate actively in growing a strong development house in a new and rapidly expanding market
