I think your absolutely right, and that I actually made the deadline to long, stakes a bit high, not to mention the way off timing of the year

I’m officially “out” as well - I’ve already sunk at least 30 hours into this comp and I’m nowhere near finished, and I’ve just got too many other things to work on.
That said, it was still very beneficial for me - I’d never tried anything even remotely as detailed as this model, and I learned a lot in the process.
Even if people don’t finish their entries, it does NOT mean it was a total loss!
I think that I’m pretty much just gonna go back an Finish rigging mine andbe done with it for a while. It was fun though.
i am working to get a plan together and presented for an official comp…one with prizes and everything… stay tuned for more info
i just hope there would be more interest than what is currently shown…it is actuallyrather disheartening to see the decline in the comps lately…
I got my first full-time job in game industry, and I had to learn XSI in quite short term. Sorry but I had no time to finish my entry 
But I will finish him in (distant ) future and I’ll post him here.
Bentllama - I cannot wait!
I will most likely not finish in time. I’m stuck in the texturing stage, but I’ll post what I’ve got come Saturday. This is the most ambitious project I’ve undertaken so far, and I want something to show for it.
That said, I’m one lurker who thoroughly enjoyed watching everyone’s progress. I was bummed to see entries lose momentum, but it happens. In fact, school work is the reason I’m up at this ungodly hour to reply.
P.S. I wholly support your endeavor, bentllama. And that Native American character is definitely one worth revisiting.

That will be great, bentllama. But if the sole motivation of the competition is the prize, that will be very sad.
I’ll be interested to join the next challenge, especially with guys like KWAK taking part. Hopefully I can finish my WIP character (which is taking too long) soon enough.

PDK the prize is never the soul purpose behind making a peace for a contest, it’s just a nice insentive to get going and keep going, so I think bentllama has a great idea.

I know, which is exactly the point I wanted to bring through. The purpose should be to improve & push ourselves through friendly competition . The competition shouldn’t need an offical prize to attact people. An official prize will of course be a cool incentive.
Anyway I have a suggestion for the next competition. Other then the regular stuff that the contestant need to show in the 1st post, make it part of the requirement to have a work schedule (which of course could be revised).
