Hello Everyone,

I have be wanting to do a project where map painting as well as camera mapping.

I am working on a sequence of establishing shots, the one below it’s my first one.
I created the mountains in 3Ds max 2009 and I did some basic procedural texturing then,
I also used photographs and combined them all together. I combined two different skies
and tweaked their colors in Photoshop. For this shot, I created two particles systems,
the one for the blizzard and the one for the Myst.

For the FINAL SHOT when we see the “Castle”, I am not sure at this point if I’ll be working with camera projection/ matte painting techniques or the actual modeling/texturing and lighting so we’ll see what happens a little by little.

Good luck to everyone and Happy New Year.

Ok, that’s it for now. I need to catch a plane. I am going for a week vacation to Mexico/ mazatlan. I’ll be back in San Francisco on the 4th, later guys .

Look good so far.

The motion blur on the snow isn’t right. It has a hot spot in the middle. I’m guessing you used image motion blur. Which can cause these kinds of rendering artifacts.

Hi, I’m Martin’s partner and modeling/texturing the castle… heres is WIP.

Cant read your text unless we highlight it. Yeah the snow looks more like rain, but im guessing its just temp for now. Keep it up

#5

Yeah don’t worry about the snow, everything here is work in progress.

Thanks

Martin

That looks good.

I noticed the snow isn’t tracking the motion of the camera correctly.

#12

Very nice lighting. The depth of field seems to make this look like a miniature though.
