First screengrab of our tornado WIP. This culminates about 6 or so hours of tweaking and setup. Some of you may notice the background and ‘general tornado funnel’ match those from Pete Draper’s tornado tutorial; and, indeed I used his tutorial as a start reference. The background plate is the only thing we’re really still using at the moment, just as something to practice lighting on etc. Pixel will be shooting some plates if we can get a cloudy day, so there won’t be any actual remnants from Pete’s tutorial.

At any rate, the dust is all Fume, particles are all there, scale seems a little small for our F3; but that'll likely be fixed by the new shot perspective and, when we get it looking good, our AB-powered funnel.
The actual thick particles in the middle will probably be changed around, as our entry should involve some car carnage on the road, so we'll be able to rip some debris of concrete, grass, electrical poles etc.
So, the to-do fix list includes: adding the AB funnel, adding a little thickness to the bottom swirl (probably fixable in comp), fixing some of the uncharacteristic 'wispyness' of the swirly bits, getting plates, and setting up a few more particle systems for upcoming shots.
