nice work! I’d love to see some ambient occlusion on those renders. What program are you useing? did you say? sorry if I didn’t catch that already.
FXWARS: THE RACE! Mathew Foscarini
Everything is done so far in Max 8 and I’m rendering with MR.
The lighting setup hasn’t been started. I’m still trying to pick “night” or “daytime”. I may go with night time just to hide some details.
EDIT: I am thinking of doing some smoke renderings in Maya 7.
Oh I didn’t respond you your responce about how long you were planning to do. You make good points about commercial work, and it’s true we don’t need to take this too seriously.
Yours will be an interesting entry to watch for.
Hi all,
Phlewp has joined this entry, and it’s now a team project. I’d like to thank him for helping out! He is going to be doing modelling of the bikes, texturing and anything he wishes to work on.
Thanks buddy!
I could provide some misc street models . (BTW this is an offer for ALL teams)
I have a collection that I sell (in Lightwave) but I dont think you will have any problems with them.
To see them click THIS LINK.
If you are interested, send me a PM.

Have you made any money off TurboSquid? I was thinking of posting some models up there, but I always think no one will buy them.
Just a little update of one of the motorcycles. Very early WIP, and I’m not quite sure why I’m posting it here, other than to track progress, so there you go.

Freeway’s looking good. Let me know if you need any misc objects modelled. I think I even have those big bucket/barrel thingies you see on the sides sometimes. Might make for something useful to have something crash into.
Hard to get stuff done when you’re sick, but I got the handle bars laid out. Later tonight if I’m up to it I’ll finish roughing out the modelling, and move on to detailing after that.

Hay that looks cool.
I’ve started texturing the freeway, and I’m playing around with some post processing effects in Combustion.
The bike your working on is the one that’s going to crash. I’ll going to do some dynamics tests over the weekend.

Not a whole lot more time put into it, but getting pretty close to having all the shapes roughed out, then I can hopefully move on to detailing by Monday night.
lol! Yea I was thinking he looks like a fat Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator 2. I was thinking of butting a transport truck behind in the second image as a joke.
Also, doesn’t he look way too small for the bike. I think I made a mistake on the scale of the bike or the character.
I like how it’s coming along. The guy looks pretty natural on the bike, although you’re right, he is a little small. It didn’t really bother me until you pointed it out, though, so you’ll probably be fine with a small tweak.
Yeah, I agree. You could scale him up a little, but better to be too small than too big. You don’t want him to look like a bear riding a tricycle
Here is bike rider #2.
I have been very busy this week for my day job. We’re finishing up a television commercial for next week, and I don’t have much free time.
Thank guys for the possitive comments. That means a lot.
Hope you like this one. Her hair needs more work.
Looks great, nothing to crit at this stage ![]()
(actually, maybe she could do with a belt, but you probably won’t see it so… :D)
