FXWars! THE OCEAN!: George Kim

#1

Hello, everyone.

I was a little bit reluctant to enter this challenge, since I wasn’t sure if I would have enough time to finish it. But now think I can finish it–thanks to a new Dual-core system that I bought recently.

It’s about Noah’s Ark–arguably the first-ever sea-going vessel that humans have ever built. The model of the Ark was based a TV documentary aired some years ago in the U.S… It looks like a rather rectangular box than a ship that we know today–according to the “eyewitnesses’” counts and what the Genesis says.

I’m going to have lightnings and rains too.

Here’s my finished animation. (Quicktime, 13MB, 10 second)

I guess It took me about 40-50 hours to come to this final animation from the start. I have used Blender and Adobe premiere. The Ark of Noah was a model that I had made before but there’s a small whale under the water that I have modelled as a prop. It very small so you might not notice it, though.

If you guys like the above animation, I’m thinking of making a detailed animation that show show how the animation was made using 4 differenct shots: (1) original render, (2) mist pass, (3) foam pass, (4) rain pass.
