Alaska Iceberg WIP…

This is what i am working now …

Question… how can i make i nice textures for the icebergs? on this example i am using SSS but i think is more complicate, do i need to use more layers or can one single shader do the job ?
any sugestion thanks …

For the iceberg, I would suggest displacing the living heck out of it. Put very finely displaced creases all along it. Also, sharpen sone ofthe edges (modeling). Looks great!

#23

the file sever i use is qurently down, so im sorry for that.

hare are some updates :

#24

Oh, this is starting to look really nice! When comes the textures?!

Keep it up, peace!

#27

Now im back, I had a major PC crash of some kind, here is a smal update on the chopper. I know i told i would finish it about a week ago or something, bu life is hard =\

Edit : I have also started to work on a basic MEL script to control some of the atributes om the chopper, like the rotation speed, as it is now, i think i got a realsitick RPM rate, but i guess no one will see it anyway so… :stuck_out_tongue:

Here is a WIP shot from when the camera moves in on the city, created by SePu

the clip

#29

Hi H3r0 the chopper looks good… I wouldn’t worry too much about the RPM rate. some textures and it is done…
I saw Sepu video yesterday, I liked too…

ok this is WIP not very good but getting there… no textures or lighting yet only a shoot of the ice when breaking up…

I have major problems with maya yesterday, because the amount of polys… (the Icebergs)
how can i reduced the amount of polys Display on the screen, but render all the Polys?

Thanks Keep up the good work Locos
