Hi guys!
The topic I chose for this challenge is the Frozen City/Environment. Here I have a small wired layout of part of the city I will be using. I shall post more this weekend.
Cheers!

Thanks guys! As promised, I’ve got another small update. This time i’ve put a link. It shows the wired picture I posted before but in flat shading. The city I chose is Dublin, so the thing u see on the left hand side is a monument, like a needle, that has been built recently.
Link:http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y207/anrn/3cb1bf76.jpg
Apart from that, here I’ve written some points that will describe quickly how the story goes:-
–> a shot of the city full of snow is seen
–> the camera passes through some buildings
–> suddenly, ice blocks pass over the city
–> the camera focuses on the top part of the needle monument
–> other ice blocks pass by it
–> the camera, looking down on the main street, starts shaking by falling ice blocks
–> buildings are seen crumbling down by the ice blocks (following about 5 other shots of
buildings coming down)
–> a finally shot of the city in ruin is seen, until the picture fades away
Hope it’s good and u like it! I will do my best to bring these notes to life!
Cheers!

Thanks alex! Well that’s the problem I’ve got. I don’t know how to model and animate characters!
So I put the story as being a deserted city beacuse of all the snow that has fallen.
Sry for that!
Cheers!

Hi! Thanks for ur comments guys! Here I have posted another picture. It shows the monumental needle and an iceblock passing by it as described in my previous post about the sequence of the animation. I know it’s not alot, but at least everything is progressing very well!
Cheers!

Hey 3d effects,
Glad to see that you made it into the challenge
I think it was cool that you did a different take on the whole “freeze” idea (ie…have huge meteor-sized ice chunks crashing to the ground as opposed to a big hurricane-like storm or something)
Here are some comments about your actual animation:
-your cinematography was a little weak…your camera movements were mostly very linear and the still shots could have used some creative framing
-one thing you also want to remember is to try and keep action within the frame…there were sometimes where a shot went on for a couple of seconds without anything actually happening that the viewer could see
-Also…try to work on continuity a bit…at one point there were buildings standing fine and then in the last shot suddenly everything was in piles of rubble (even though we didn’t explicitly get to see all of the buildings being destroyed). Yes, some things can be inferred…but the extreme change in your video from building–>rubble was a little extreme
Hope that helps a bit for next time
Sure it does help ivanisavich!
Thanks you so much for the comments. Well yes infact I though it wasn’t nice at all, showing the rubble instantly, but the problem was that I didn’t have any chance of inserting some more animations because of the deadline, so I jsut rushed it and done the final shot.
About cinematography ur right of it being weak, I guess it’s for another time to improve it!
Still thanks alot for that help, I really appreciate it!:wavey:
