Checking In:

My animation and textures are pretty much finished. The render layers are all done. Now I’m working on fixing up all of the dynamics. Here’s a render of the direction I’m headed towards.

By the way I wanted to add that I am having a friend and fellow student do the comp work because I haven’t taken that class yet and don’t know nuke well enough from the tutorials I have done. His name is Guatama Murcho and he has about two months left of class so be on the lookout for his demo reel.

Hey man its lookin good. Im liking the whole idea. the only thing i could see is take a look at edges around the fluids. they need to disperse a little more outwards, so it looks like ur getting the fumes sorta look.

oh yeah,…nice tires :stuck_out_tongue:

thanks Chris. I appreciate your encouragement especially when I’m reading it at 3am while waiting on renders.

#12

Hey there, It’s been a couple of days since my last post. Unfortunately someone has stolen my 8g flash drive that had my matte painting on it. So I stayed up all night and did this with a few tips from Guatama. It’s basicly my first matte painting so if you guys could throw me some critiques it would be awesome.

#13

The matte isn’t bad. some things you might want to look at is the snow in the mountains. The middleground mountains have snow that is lower on the mountain than the background ones, but they look shorter, which doesn’t make sense. The foreground ones don’t look like they have any snow on them.

Other than that nothing sticks out to me. It’s a lot better than my first matte was.

[li]DESCRIPTION:[/li][/ul]Hey, here is our final shot. We used Maya08, Nuke, Shake, and Photoshop. I learned a ton about render layers, compositing, and time management. Guatama was a great help in this project and has shown me that he is an extremely hard worker. I really had fun with this and promise you the next challenge will be much better!

Thanks for the help Guatama and Chris.
