Looks good. I like to model. Its simple and cartoony. I am curious to see where you take this project.

Good luck.

hi.
I finally made my mind up. I will pull a couple of projections and let the car speed along desert highways. the next days I’ll collect some images and maybe get to rough out the animation. also I’ll start doing the uvs and texturing shading for the car.

this is just a mood.

#4

finally got started on the textures a bit. just a quick update.

#5

almost through with texturing. now thinking about engines and particles or whatever… I feel it’s starting to get there, but I’m not really sure about the projectionmapping stuff anymore. I pulled out an out shot that I shot with the hvx200 some day. maybe I’m gonna take that…

I’m very unsatisfied with the window galss. looks rubbish. don’t now what to do about it yet.
well, next time, ther will be an animated tranformation layout of the vehicle I hope. I got it all rigged up. need to finish the texturing.

#6

Cool car you have here! How come that is no comments on this.Simple and great is your work.

#7

I dig your capsule design! Great shapes and cool textures. Looking forward to seeing it open up.

#8

I’m working on four shots in total, which will form a little movie. these are two stills from those.
I hope I can make it in time

#9

great dude  I like the design and the textures! good luck with is

#10

Looking good Csicso3d. Keep it up. U can crank 4 shots with it.

#11

Looks good so far.

The shadow in the second image is on the wrong side. If you look at the rocks the sun is actually coming from the left side.

#12

thanks for your commets guys, thanks for motivating me.

mustan9:
shadow is on the wrong side? not true. if you look at the rocks, they have no direction, really, cause I mirrored the image and then projected it on some polys. so the rocks on the left have their shadow right, and the rocks on the right have their shadows left. of course one can see by closely looking at it, that something’s a bit odd, but I doubt anyone will see it in the final animation with all the action, camera move, and particles. there is no major indicator for wront lighting, that’s what I believe. it should be sufficient for this shot actually.

cheers

I finally nailed the transformation animation down.
if you like to look at it:

still the camera needs to go a bit more wild and it needs some shader work to it. but overall I’m happy with this shot, once it’sanimated I think it’s gonna be alright.

#14

Awsome work mate, can you post the aqnimation on another hosting service, cant download it from this one, (no slots available)

#15

ok. I finished one shot today. working on the rest.

#16

really nice!

#17

ok. I will render the transformation sequence tonight. this is what I’m currently working on. need to get rid of the disgusting background, I’ll create a matte painting and project it I think. the solve is ok. was a lot of manual work to get a solve with all that motion blur.
anyhow. I hope I can make it until the 3rdnov.

I have rendered the transformation scene. it took ages on my sweet notebook. but here it is. It’s got this kind of manga style background, always repeating and just flying by. since the flying car is inspired by old manga vehicles and of course the capsule design in particular for those who know what I mean. unfortunately I forgot to set a seed, so the expressions are all off doing different random functions for my expression driven attributes, this resulted in renderpasses that do not match. also I will take care of heat distortion and try figuring out how to create a nice engine flame, other than the cheap post streaks effect. I’m not a particle guy, so those are really cheap sprites, I don’t think I’ll be able to push those further really, I’m already glad that they work out the way they are right now. So I’ll focus on finishing the other shots first, then I’ll correct all the wrong things of this scene… and maybe I’ll do something about the crappy sprites… but I doubt it.
