COngratulations, Lino!!!
FXWars! COLLAPSE!: Lino, COLLAPSE!,Bridge Collapsing
Some tech info about the shot:
The (very basic) modeling has been done in Lightwave Modeler, and there I’ve created the “broken” object.
Even dynamics, lighting and rendering have been done entirely in Newtek’s Lightwave 3D.
On the short distance this software can really give great results!
The sky is made using a displaced/textured plane…it’s animated, even if it’s not easy to notice that in the shot. It’s very fast to render, about 5 seconds per frame using the new photoreal motion blur.
Dynamics implies the use of both HardFX and ClothFX/Hardlink tools.
ParticleFX has been used for the smoke dynamics, and rendered using HyperVoxels, LW’s particle rendering system.
I have to thank Newtek for the incredible bug fixes they’ve made in version 9.2, and for have completely renewed the radiosity engine/Nodal Surfacing system.
Nodal System is growing through the entire software (Surfacing, Displacement, Motion…) and really we can see a bright future for this application, that was left in a really bed state from the previous development team.
If you have any question, I’ll be happy to answer here.
Thank you again, everyone.
Hi Lino, real nice work with the animation, some great cinimatics going on there. I was wondering how the bridge piece shown in the Bridge_collapse_Test_05 video was created, it looks asif its got some kinda of constraint physicis appied to it?
