As dateline is extended. i can’t think what to add or what to not!!
if roberto will permit maybe i will do second entry.
but i think i should work more on crash scene to make it believable.as i got around 20 days more.(hmm if festivals wonn’t eat my time…)
i will redo that crash shot with new good looking UFO model!! .

I think you should work on sound. I think it will help sell the footage immensely. I think you definitely need to have crickets chirping. Perhaps before the crash we here the photographer says, “What is that? What the hell is that?” Maybe you could add some screams. Then comes the sound of the ship crashing, impact, and debris. With all of these combined and added to your footage, I think you have a strong piece. Keep up the good work. It’s inspiring.

Hello everyone,

Here i go with my final submission.well my short looks like short story cum then trailer.

Story is about the UFO bymistake entered to the earth and crashed near the wheatfield.it’s hard for alien to live on earth’s environment.it alive for few hours and after that its whole body burned out due to atmosphere.and also Crop circle is found in the middle of wheatfield…

I used 3ds max 8,combustion and photoshop for particlefx,compositing,lighting etc.I didn’t use any plugin for this short.Alien model is by my friend sriram.

EDIT :: New file is uploaded.corrected the brightness of UFO crash scene.and also little of whole movie.it was too dark to see anything in crash scene.

That are some really interesting breakdowns, Jignesh! :slight_smile: Cool to see that you did almost everything within 3dsmax… (as such 2D-cammoves can be more efficient to add in After Effects or so, its interesting to sea that you really use every option of 3dsmax!)

Also very cool to see your photo cleanups! :slight_smile: You did a really great job on it, as I didn’t notice it at all! :beer:

Yeah i used 3ds max to fake camera motion in image…As 3ds max camera is more handy to use and easily we can fake camera motion…

i used combustion for final touchup like color correction,glow,bloom etc…and for Dolly/Motion blur on crop circle shot…

I didn’t render eveyrthing in different passes coz i m on single machine and wanted to save rendering time as i was suppose to submit everything before first deadline…:slight_smile:
and yeah all the best!!

whoever wins… doesn’t matter; i learnt a lot through this challange and i know u too…:slight_smile:
