pitanello,
This is very great. Very realistic. How long did this take and what software did you use for this water and animation?
Thanks
Hi Paint Guy
I made it all in 3DS Max in about 3 weeks. I used a wave modifier with noise for the geomery of the sea and for the shader i used a top/bottom material. On the bottom channel, a black material with some sky hdri reflection, on the top channel the lumetools ocean material to create the foam.
For the cannon fire i used the fume fx plugin.
:bounce: Many thank’s :bounce:
Thanks for sharing this info. I have been trying to create a realistic ocean scene without much success. About the bottom channel you used a black material was it opaque or transparent and what do you mean by you some sky HDRI reflection? Are you saying you used an HDRI for the sky? and the black has a high reflective so the sky reflects off of it?
Once again congrats on a fine piece of work.

Black opaque

no sorry, i used a fallof with an hdri on the reflection channel of the black opaque material to make reflections of the sky on the sea surface
and the black has a high reflective so the sky reflects off of it?
