FXWAR! The Crash : Ole Kristian H.H

Hi, My name is Ole Kristian, and I really look forward to do this challenge.

But I would like to have someone to work with.
If you find any of the work posted here interesting, please contact me. I live in Norway (GMT +1) I really need help with:
-Rendering
-Compositing
-Modeling the second car (as I dont really enjoy modeling that much)
I will try to solve the VFX parts my self, but I could for sure need some help on that as well, so basicly, if you can do 3d and want to help, please contact me.

I use Maya 7.0.

Hope someone find the start tasty, always open for ideas and critic.

Here is the story board (And yes, I know I cant draw, but you will get the idea on what I am making)

Here is a wip of the first car, a Toyota supra.

I got mexxmillion to help me on this one, but we are in need of an animator as well. Mostly to animate the cars. If you are interested, send me a PM

Back from easter :slight_smile:

Here are the first car. It has some errors, and the edge loops are not related to this world, but it is done

The other car is 99% finished, ill post it soon.

I think I will have to do this on my own, as mexxmillion probably didnt have the time to help. But if anyone is interested, please give me a sign as it is abit to much to do for just one man

Hehe, I am not that sure about textures, I might add a number to the sides of the cars, but nothing more. Just shaders as to texture the cars would be more of a challenge then the crash challenge. But thanks for the kind words my friend

Woah killer rims on the porsche! The whaletail looks weird though. What the poly count on the car with and without rims?

The supra is about 100.000 polys (I guess 20.000 of the polys belong to the wheels)
The porche is about 100.000 as well (about 40.000 for the wheels)

The geomity is really bad, as I just lofted it from curves, converted from nurbs/SubDs and used booleans. Just to get it as quick as possible.

Bad geometry? So what they look great! Light them right and you won’t even have to texture them all that much with all the detail you modeled in. Looking forward to seeing your animations!

Car’s looking good, dude. Don’t worry about the geo… the more polys, the more you can scrunch it up… :wink:
