Well… Todays word is RAIN!
Ive been working on the rain for my establishing shot for 2 days now…
Its starting to come together… I thought its would be easier to make the rain in after effects… now im not quite sure anymore lolll
Ill test it in 3dMax compare my results and if 3d is better… then all that 2d work will go into the garbage… cause its the result that matters not the work!

the rain was done in after effects using many layers of particles I dont really like it…
tell me waht you think about the rain!? I know my foam is missing but im still working on that!
the shader itself is final i think… unless you have crits?

for some strange reason I get the quicktime logo when downloading then it changes to a quicktime a logo with a question mark in the middle of it after the download has been completed(as if to say somethings gone wrong), but strangly your previous *.mov worked fine.
Yea, and downloading the file and playing it, gets a “the file is not a movie file” error message… :shrug:

I dont know why it wasnt working before…
it seems I had to export in premiere then re export in after effects to compress properly… for internet
The sounds effects are great really brings it to life 
, I like the rain but maybe the particles for the rain drops could be a little smaller though.
This is definitely in the right path! it looks like it won’t be long for you to get something decent.
Watch out, maybe you noticed it, but at about the 2/3rd of the duration of your clips you have some weird artifact going on. It’s well apparent in the foreground at the left of the clip. Maybe some key in the noise of the texture or in the nimation of your mesh.

I also like the haze on the farther waves AND the clouds at the end of the frame.

I realize my ocean drops a couple feet at once at one point
a glitch i fyou prefer.

10 seconds might be too long, if you just want a feel, i’d say 3-4 seconds.
The rain you have looks ok, it could be used to some more rain elements.
You are not forced to have an interaction for everydrop that hits the surface of the water as long as you have that nice haze on top of the surface.
In my opinion.

Wauw, that is really a cool composite. Nice sky reflections in the water, nice z-depth…
Only thing (besides the drop) is, the rain looks a bit chunky, like fast falling snowflakes… I’d prefer some thinner streaks.

Hi ok i have started work on my emerging sequence of the sub coming out of the water…
now to time my shots right i wanted to edit rough animatics…
how do i render a movie file of what i see in the perspective viewport in 3dmax… i just want that… nothing more… so it can render in real time… and i can time my shots with the pace and start adding music and audio… without having the final renders…

Comments on the editing:

[li]The cut from A to B is too awkward, because the angles are very similar. I’d make that one shot if I were you, maybe move the camera from position A to B.[/li][li]Something’s wrong with the cut from B to C, and from C to D too, but I can’t quite put my finger on it. Maybe it’s because all cuts are virtually from the front, so they’re not different enough - meaning, to the eye the object just “jumps” in frame. Try moving the camera in clip C, making the angle more from behind.[/li][/ul]Of course, that would ruin the “fin going over the head”, as you have now, and that would be a shame…
I dunno exactly what to do, but all your angles are from the front, with the submarine coming almost head on. Try three more individual camera angles. (but be careful about cutring from left to right side of the submarine, that would make the sub change direction in frame, and that’s called breaking the 180 degree rule )

Hmm, then how about skipping shot A (keep it same angle as B), then shot C where we go under the fin, and then for the bellysplash shot, cut back to angle B?
yeah i know what you mean with all the angles from the front… i keep watching it over and over
and i think its cause some have motion and some dont so it throws you off balance…
ill try adding more motion to all the shots…

Or, in the “under the fin” shot, you could hold that angle, pan right as the sub goes by, and then to shot D as it is, going over the sub.
