mostly it’s all houdini work, with some maya thrown in, and a touch of shake, or afterfx

Wow! That was quite worth the time to download. At first I thought the music woulnd’t fit, but then I realized it’s very artistic.
Only the clouds didn’t look too realistic yet… they had those non-smooth colour-changes… and the jaw of that guy, wouldn’t it drop further…?

Nice demo reel, exspecially the smoke and the twister! One thing that isn’t clear to viewers is how you actually made the twister, its fricking steam! Awsome! Nice composite of real video footage with CG elements. Keep up the great work Jacob!
Good job. Im not an fx guy so i cant give too many crits. It would have been cool to see some rain come down from those storm clouds. I like the guy at the end getting his skull cracked. The cigarette was good because it was a complete scene with textures and everything. I would have liked to see more stuff like that.

hey, thanks for the support, it’s been a lot of fun putting this all together. In regards to the clouds, i do aplogize. I assume your taking about the compression artifacts, I’m not really good at compressing files and in order to keep size down i had to sacrfice a little in terms of quality.

about the storm, that was a group project, there is a compositer who will go back and and add other elements, things like rain, lightning, and an ocean too! Also about the cigarette shot, I didn’t light the scene, or models or anthing. That was all the talented Ryan and andrew. But again thank you as well for the feedback.

the smoke is blown away from the cars using a “Wind POP.” The logo at the beginning is using a metaball attractor. So I guess no, the smoke is being blown away
