Fusion track

Hi everyone
I’m new to this forum and the program fusion 6
I’m follow a tutorial on tracking but do not understand why if the image to track is smaller than the size of the tracker input the image to track is cut but if I add a resize everything worked.
Why does this happen? is right to put a resize at the image to track, if it is too small?
please help me
