Looks cool wegg. It would be even cooler with a shorter lens and another cam position. You should get rid of the texture tiling on the ground and make it looks more sharp and bumpy. Increase the contrat a little bit for the ground too. Any animation?

Animation. I don’t think I have ever been paid to do a still.

Looks really nice! Are you planning to adjust focus, as if it is a real cameraman operating the lens?

Nope. Got the backplates for the shot. All in focus. . . nothing fancy.

Its already using translucency. It looks very odd without it. Like its made out of cement.

Looks great enough for me to suspect that ant antennae don’t bend in that Weggish segmented way :wink:

Thats whats under the color map. Lots of SSS. Its just harder to see with all the other details.

They turned out looking pretty good if I do say so myself. :slight_smile:

I used a motion clip of the main “walk”. And created a second animation of the head wobbling around and the antennae doing their thing. Then with compose I created 4 different “blends” to create variety. Then I comped them all in After Effects with slight offsets and color changes. A little blur. . . a little noise. . .

Oh man I love Messiah. . .

very cool. lighting could be better though, the shadows are a bit stressed if you know what i mean.

Very nice. One small suggestion on the animation. Have the second ant (and the rest) pause when he just gets over the top and is planted on the side of the box…allowing the lead (sentry) ant to check out the path for a full beat or beat and a half before they proceed.

Just a thought. I hope to jump back into messiah at the beginning of the new year.

stooch: The lighiting is pretty much defined by the backplate I was given. They even sent me a still of the same enviroment with a white styrphome ball so I could very accuratly get angles, color etc. Might be a little too accurate though. I’ll. . . see what I can fudge in. Get some more interesting change from light to dark.

catizone: Its only a 5 second shot so I wanted to try and have as many spill out of the box as I could without it looking too crammed.
