Greets
I am having a problem with using FumeFX v1.2d inside of 3DS Max 2010 x64 SP1.
My problem is with FumeFX’s UI.
After describing my problem as best as possible, I have also included a link to a screen
capture, that I have made, showing my problem in action.
My problem is, once I click to open FumeFX’s UI, the interface opens normally, and perfect
just as it should, until I go to move the UI.
Once I go up, and left click on the UI’s title bar, and drag the UI to a new location, one
fourth of the right hand side of the UI disappears, taking from me, my “Obj/Src” Tab, which
is quintessential.
Its perfectly fine, until I go to move it.
And if I take my mouse down to one of the sides of the UI box, it turns into a bi-directional
arrow, indicating that the box, or window, would or should be stretchable. And it is not.
I have searched the net, and have found that a number of others are experiencing this same
issue, but have yet to find a viable solution.
Some submitted fixes include changing screen resolution, changing font size, however, as you
can see from my video, the UI is perfectly functional in every way, until I try to move it,
which tells me, that, it should still be perfectly functional no matter where I drag it to.
In all honesty, I can fix this problem if I change a display setting, not resolution,
in Windows7. However, when I do this, my screen becomes very hard to see, and entails
very small everything.
That setting is under:
Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization\Display
The default setting at this location is “Medium - 125% (default)”. To get FumeFX’s UI to work
I have to drop this setting to, “Smaller - 100%”, which is totally unfeasible for the rest of
my work operations in windows.
Once again, I shouldn’t have to drop this setting down, as in the default 125% setting, FumeFX’s UI
actually initiates perfectly, which tells me it can display at the default setting, its only once its moved,
that I experience my problem.
A few details of my current system:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9650
Video: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS
RAM: 8 Gigabyte of system RAM
OS: Windows7 Ultimate x64
OS Resolution: 1920x1080
Monitor: Samsung 32" WS LN32A550
The fact that I run Win7 in HD mode, (1920x1080), may in fact lead some to believe that
the problem lies herein, however, I have never, to this point with FumeFX’s UI, had any problems
from any software packages what so ever. That resolution is actually extremely advantageous to
CG programming.
Here is the link to my screen capture I did, showing everything I am trying to explain.

Any help at this point will be immensely appreciated.
Thank you to all.
