I think it’s quite weird that for the whole day nobody from the cgsociety team couldn’t find the time to give us even small info about what’s going on…

You should all receive an email soon. the following is our official message:

Dear Challenge Entrant,
Sometimes you spend a great deal of time double checking new systems to iron out all the bugs only to find that a real simple issue like server time was not set as you would have expected. Unfortunately this happened to us and the Dreamscape Challenge closed approximately 16 hours earlier than we had planned.

With this in mind we have opened up the Challenge for the next 24 hours to enable you to submit your entry that you were busily trying to get in place in the last 24 hours only to find you had been shut out. Just to be clear - The challenge will accept entries up until 23:59:59 UTC on the 3rd of March 2011.

We are really sorry for causing you a bit of stress, as I said before, this is a brand new system and it won’t happen again, we promise!

got the email. now I understand why the button link disappear before the deadline. the only issue now is that i have been trying to upload for several times and it always stops right before it reaches the middle of the upload progress bar. perhaps due to so many people around the world uploading at the same time, causing traffic jam?? I will keep on trying and hope it works.

I can’t seem to upload my final picture, no thumbnail preview or anything shows up at all except the editing tools below. Tried several times now…still not working for me.

For me I get : about to create Submission

when uploading Making of video encoded in Divx8… tried 2 times and nothing :frowning:

I entered my standard low-res version as final, a ninja stopped by to point out my error. I get that “About to create submission” page as well, I thought maybe I couldn’t upload more than once, but if others are getting it then maybe something is doinked. I’ll just keep checking back, retrying. I did send this question to Baliistic as well. I’m sure they’re slammed.

not sure if this helps, but, when i uploaded my final image i also got some error, it would upload image and then a white page with some text. i dont remember what exactly was writen but it well could be “about to create submission”. And then i realised i am uploading .tiff , and it seems we are sopose to upload .jpg

guys just make sure that the file you’re trying to upload has no SPACE in its name

In my case it is not a name issue. could be codec issue, movie size issue, length issue. Who knows. Luckily the movie was uploaded here, but making of is going on Vimeo…

I’ve just read the mail Keenly is talking about and I’ve been trying to upload my final image, but there’s seems to be a mayor traffic jam with the uploading system. I can’t get beyond the “pick a file” window…
