Mark,
I tried posting this in your forums but couldn’t so I hope you see this here:
I received your DVD yesterday and thanks for allowing me the chance to improve my Wings knowledge
Ive had a chance to review it and came up with a few points.
First, Im a fairly new Wings user as Ive only been using it solidly for about 3 months so you know the perspective in which I viewed the DVD.
You might want to say what version of Wings you did the tuts in considering that it seems to change versions so frequently with added features and improvements. And also what type of audience where you aiming at? If this is for the Wings newbie you might want to include a short chapter explaining menus, commands and shortcuts.
I understood what you where doing (and learned quite a bit in the process
thank you!) but Im familiar with most of the Wings interface.
I like the variation of organic and mechanical modeling to cover several concepts. I believe this helps out the people new to modeling a lot and it seems most tutorials on the web tend to lean more toward organic shapes leaving a gap for mechanical tutorials.
I like the DVD root menu. Nice and simple, but I would add descriptions under the buttons like:
Play all tutorials
Select a Chapter
Hope this review helps you and I agree with making a donation to the cause especially for the cost of DVDs and shipping which can get very expensive. You might also think about avis for downloading if you have the web space available.
Once again, good job on the tuts and thanks for giving me the chance to view it.
Cheers
Richard
