Second, has anyone modified or requested for interior stairs?

Maybe the author is thinking about this.

Hi Tyson
First of all, thanks for this amazing script…just had little issue. It dosent allow me to create a single floor building. It always jumps to five in floor settings no matter what i change…
am i missing something here…

Hi! I love this tool. What a good idea.

Just curious about a few things that would help me work with it:

1. Is there any way to save my own presets or BG project window between sessions so I can work on ongoing projects in the building generator indefinitely?

2. Any way to use meshes in a place besides the roof so I can add more details, i.e. window shutters, drain pipe

3. Any suggested workpath for converting the materials/uv to something gaming friendly / texture baked fast

Even if the answer is no to all those I'll still use it a bit but those things would be of interest to me.

I realized a few things poking around.

however it had a bug for me with roof generation so this one seems the best: http://tysonibele.com/Main/BuildingGenerator/bg_plus_v01_555.mse

It has save/load, and meshes for facade support! All stuff I wanted lol. So don’t download the one at the front of this thread. Or download them both if you want and compare for yourself.

bg_plus_v01_472 give me a syntax error in max 2012. Is it becuase I don’t have helium installed?

In BG+ you can add meshes to any facade as well. First, add a ā€˜Facade Details’ node to your floor node, then add your meshes to the facade details node.

Unfortunately neither BG nor BG+ were designed to be optimized for games. All texture UVs are projection mapped, and the geo can get pretty heavy.

BG+ won’t run without Helium, no.

Unfortunately the developer of the original Helium plugin seems to have taken down the site.

However, for versions of max prior to 2011, you can find my old release of the Helium plugins here:

For 2012, you can try the version on MaxPlugins.de:

Although for some reason I haven’t had luck with the installer…when I install to max I get an error. Maybe someone else will have better luck? :slight_smile:

Unfortunately the official Helium plugin has been discontinued, but updated builds are available from maxplugins.de

Heya Tyson

Trying to get building Gen working for Max2014 just throws a error… I suspect this is because i need Helium… I have the latest source code from maxplugins.de but have no clue what to do with it… guessing i need to compile it?
Could someone help with this step or would how would I go about doing it.

ah… i see inside the zip under sample scripts and docs there is a compiled version… do I need to just add this in?

Hey,

In that .zip you’ll find a ā€œcompiled pluginsā€ folder…use the plugin for 3dsmax 2013 in there, because if I’m not mistaken, plugins for 2013 and 2014 are cross-compatible.

I have some question, Is this script Game friendly? Can it make Low poly models and LOD models? Good script, though.
