Blimey! [nitin design] do you have a crystal ball? LOL
For FUN - WorldCUP, Whom do you stand for?MOD EDIT: CONGRATS ITALY!!!!
Something funny on the dutch WC news just now. After the 1-1 against France masses of South Korean fans were celebrating in the streets leaving an enormous mess. The next morning everything was cleaned up by SK fans themselves, hahaha that’s pretty amazing, what a bunch of cool people.
Wow what a totally unexpected half time score, 1 for Tunesia against 0 for Spain, it looks like this might be the WC of the underdog.
It was a lovely fist half for the Tunesians but indeedy the dam has been shattered - GO SPAIN!
woohoo… good for Spain!
this, believe it or not, is a photo. And it’s probably the crappiest phone-photo you’ve seen, hehe, but I think it gives an idea of what was happening… yesterday I went to see part of the match to some big place here in madrid where they had installed some ‘big’ screens… it was so crowded that I could only see the right half of the screen, haha, but the ambient was great, we climbed up to some mmmm “structures”, I should’ve done the photo when we were celebrating the 2nd goal, but I was a bit busy in that moment avoiding spontaneous beer showers…

PS: I think that the thing with Luis Aragones’ racism was just a misunderstanding exagerated by the press, (I can’t be sure though…) bah …never mind, that’s OT IMO…
Having too much beer, eh Fernando?
I expected Spain to play better… the substitutes saved the day.
Tomorrow Holland vs Argentina. Don’t miss it fellas, although both teams will keep some key players, who have yellow cards, on the bench.
Anyway most likely that Messi will play and Argentina are the favorites.

aaaawww…
My vote goes for England. World cup IS getting stale with brazil having won 5 times. and yeah england has Gerrard! Lampard is good too.(yeah, yeah he hasent played well enough to be in a school team but a couple of bad games dont make him a different player right?)
i have a sneeking suspicion Argentina has peeked too quickly and england and brazil are just getting started. its gonna be interesting…
anyway may the best team win!
Germany-Ecuador is about to start! Not a lot at stake, in theory, as they are both qualified for the next round. But they are disputing the first place in their group, as to avoid England in the next round…
To the best of my knowledge, half of Ecuador’s team today are reserves…
GO ECUADOR!!!
I stand for Portugal, even if I don’t like footbal and I am sick of this championship madness. :argh:
Germany are looking really good. I hope we top our group so we dont play them in thte next round.
And Sweden will be Englands first real challenge…although sweden have been as poor as England so far…
Go England!
and Germany did beat Equador nicely - though that’s no surpirse
as for us - thank goodness for Bosacki who finally scored some goals for Poland and we don’t have to hide our faces in the sand; still our performance was painful face palm
there’s exactly two teams who played a convincing tournament so far: Germany and Argentina.
I am such a happy little Mu as is the rest of football Germany (hang on… they might be happy, but I dont know if they’re happy little Mus…
)
Klose is on his way to becoming the top attacker of the tournament and Poldi finally scored and is now ready to shift into higher gear.
Two things that struck me as especially wonderful:
- the German co-trainer Jogi Löw in the break answering a question about what is to come in the forthcoming second half. He said something like, “2:0 means nothing, much too unstable a result, we will continue attacking and get the third goal.”
YEAH! Way to go!
(Maybe Brazil, England and esp. France should have tuned in to that atttude, too. I get the feeling that the traditional italian catenaccio has become the style of playing for so many teams out there… )
- German coach Jürgen Klinsmann after the game said that Ecuador tried to calm down the speed of the match and that you naturally follow this drift and start to play the ball too much to and fro among your defense players… and that that was something that upset him and his co-trainer…
wonderfully elegant and efficient offensive football is the result of this attitude…
Did I mention that Berlin! Berlin! Wir fahren nach Berlin!...
:bounce:
Germany did play exceptional attacking football today BUT bearing in mind Ecuador had several players missing and were settling for second place today, but credit to the Germans…you can only beat the team which is put in front of you, and today they did that well.
But before the world cup started i bet £20 with my mate that the germans would win, and im sticking to that, they came in as underdogs to the tournament and just seem to be getting better and better. Lets face it, Germany have had an average team for MANY years, but it doesnt stop them getting to finals and winning things.
klinnsman has a really positive attitude to the way Germany are playing, hes got them hungry and hes got them playing nice attacking football and it must be a breath of fresh air for the german public. The main thing i noticed today about the Germans was the team spirit, they seem very close and they played as a team, fighting for every ball along side each other.
keep playing like this and they will do well i think.
