Yeah well deserved too, he elbowed him to the face which caused blood to spurt out everywhere. The US red card was a dive tackle at the ball (and he actually hit the freakin ball!!!)…rotten…but I digress…I was a little heated but whatever.

Actually, I just got back from grabbing lunch, and I missed that there was a red card for the US afterwards. Just saw the replay–yeah, that looked pretty floppish. Oh well, at least now it’s 10 men on both sides. May the better team-1 win. :smiley:

I agree…I’d rather see if the US can earn it too…but make it fair…heck another Pope yellow card would have been a smarter makeup call in my opinion.

I’m watching this on and off but the coolest thing I saw was a save yesterday. Instead of looking like an idiot trying to explain it, I’ll look like an idiot drawing my “Extreme Stick Figure Reenactment!”

Wow that one is unbelievable too…so bad. 21 to 7 fouls and two red cards for the US, and a broken nose…geesh. Well I play soccer as well and there is no way those were two red cards…but maybe I’m biased.

What the hell is wrong with the refs in this game? 10 on 9? Let’s just cut to the chase and go 5 on 5, NBA style, because clearly that’s where we’re heading. :rolleyes:

To be honest, all three of them well deserved, imo.

First one, I don’t think any one will contest. ( and I bet the player will face a tougher punishment by FIFA)
The second one was as someone else mentioned a “leg-breaker” type of situation (a career breaker with a bit less luck)
As for the last one, let’s just say you never cause a foul with a dive tackle from the back… especially when you already have a yellow card.

No matter how bad the refs are in this game, it’s still probably the most intense and exciting game I’ve ever seen.

i don’t see anything wrong so far with the referee… all red cards that´ve been placed was spot on. even the most difficult to see off sides…

Certainly been a very entertaining game and if the states can hold out for a draw they still have a slim chance of making it through to the knockouts.
