Flash MX 2004 Component question

#1

Hi,
I don’t know if cgtalk is the right place to ask it but well …

I’m using Flash MX component for my site but i wanted to use my own skin/design with them.
I’ve followed many tutorials to do my own theme and everythings work with the Arrows and Bars of my components, but i can’t get rid of the white background behind them.
I know how to change his color with actionscript, but what i want is to make it transparent or invisible.

Please help me

and sorry if my english is ugly

in flash mx u was able to press the right mouse button on the component and choose edit in place…

in flash mx 2004 u are not able to do that… u have to set the colors and lines etc. with actionscript… download the new macromedia help and see in the help (f1) changing components… there u will find all …

regards…

Thanks for the fast answers,

but as i said, i know that i can change the color of everythings within the component in actionscript ( seen from macromedia help) but what i want here is to change the alpha value of those color and this is not allow by the action script command “setStyle()”
So i made my own theme to match my site design but, even with a changed theme, the background of the component stay white (for exemple the textArea component keep doing a white square, even if i already changed the “background” clip of the library to a transparent one.
It looks like some part of the component are coded somewhere and can’t be changed

Sorry, i don’t know if my explanations are clear.
