Beginning some concept design for the crew. Thinking about an alien race with similar scale and disposition to humans. Average intelligence, main sensory input is sight, taste and touch. Vertibrate, sentient, walks upright, uses tools, domesticated, evolved protective covering adapting to hot temperature. Possibly poisonous defense mechanism.
