First post and first attemp

Hi there and happy new year,

Hey, would you believe it when I told you that my last “real” airbrush painting on paper was made 24 years(!) ago ? Chevy 57 made in 1982…

(After this my life went through a lot of changes …:slight_smile: :sad: )

Anyway… I became inspired again and here’s my first attempt to paint with photoshop. It gave me lots of new experiences (and frustrations) but it’s fun and coming on a site like this and seeing the beautiful work and tuts, made me very enthusiastic.

I’d appreciate any crits,tips and suggestions…

W.I.P. (btw, the background (scheveningen) is just a picture for color reference and it will not be used in the final version.

Welcome back to art! It’s looking great, have you done anymore work on it recently?

Not sure what’s going on with the hair, but the face looks incredible
Maybe a little highlight on the eyebrows, they look a little flat

Keep posting and throw up a high res image, that’s the best way to get feedback.

When people can see everything critique is easier too.

I think the mouth is by far the best part of the face right now. awesome stuff. So since you did airbrushing is that the only brush you use in ps or have you broadened your horizons? :wink:

I’ve been working many days on this picture trying to get my old airbrush feel back. And to explore and learn some of the possibilities of PS & P.

While browsing the www for tut’s, I found so much inspiration and many beautiful paint styles. So I want to experiment much and much more. It also makes me very anxious to try everything at the same time :slight_smile:

Anyway, at this moment I’m bored with this first attempt and spend my weekend time doing some very small exercises (not worth showing) and make a quick sketch of any idea which pops up.

I think the POV you’re using on this piece is quite cool and unique. I’m looking forward to seeing where this goes.

This is some inspiring work…It goes to show that a good artist in one medium is a good artist in another…I really like the airbrushed look.

Great sketch, the face of that girl looks so good and smooth.

How do you make those eyes they are so damn beautiful.
