FINALLY I am now officially a leader with Creative Cow!

#1

I am a leader in the MOTION GRAPHICS forum, The ZAXWERKS forum
and the AFTER EFFECTS forum. The AfterEffects forum is changing on the cow. There will no longer be a ‘basics’ forum. It will be geared more towards multiple forums, such as
After Effects - Design forum
After Effects - Technical forum
I am ‘temporarily’ in basics until the change occurs,(there was no room left on the just AE forum for a new leader) then I would be in the “design” forum under the new arrangement.

The names have not yet been decided, but in the next 30 days there are going to be content changes and a long overdue interface enhancement! Its very exciting to get this opportunity. Ive been told that there are hundreds of artists "begging" to get a leader position on the AE forum. (Ron the owner used that word) and I will have one, in the new AE forums the cow creates. For those who dont know. Creative Cows AE forums are the #1 most visited forum in the world for After Effects users! (almost 1 million unique visitors a month visit the cow, and growing)

The Zaxwerks forum is PERFECT for me. I know Zax’s product well and can help others.
but when the questions come about how to go to the next level of 3d, Zax knows, its EI EI EI all the way from ME. My reel is practically a Zaxwerks EI combo reel. I will be professional about it. I respect Zax a lot as a person.

I have announced these moments here on the EI forum for a few reasons. #1 I love EI and feel it is the best\easiest 3d solution for motion graphics. People will see my reel and inevitably people will ask, in all 3 forums I am a leader in, questions about 3d software, and generally from a new user point of view. I have a chance to influence many with my passion (and Facts :) All 3 of these forums contain a goldmine of talented artists who ultimately may want more than just a 2d solution. As I write this I have already had 3 emails praising my reel and asking me if I really did do it in EI. One guy thought EI went away, then he said to me, I can see it diddn't go anywhere! I was activated just a few hours ago (3-4)

my EI v7 review for the COW will NOW FINALLY be coming out soon, Ill let everyone know when. We also have an open invitation for an EI forum on the Cow. After speaking with Brian to get his opinion, it may be best to wait just a bit on that. And I agree, I don't want to "water down" what we have going here and on EITG site. If things go as I see them, and I start writing tutorials for EI, How To's and opinion pieces there may be a
place for a small forum to start up. Its all exciting for me personally, but its very exciting to me to be able to share my passion for EI "when appropriate" with new artists!

I personally would encourage anyone that has a few minutes to register at the cow, and maybe say hi to me there. EI users are a great group of artists, lets remind them we can still be heard from. Remember on the AE forum, I am not placed properly yet. Ron told me thats changing very soon. (he loves ei and knows its history well)

I am VERY interested in the long term thriving of animator, new users are where growth occurs, so I am humbled, excited and encouraged that maybe, just maybe I can help make a difference. (I know that sounds corny :)

I am also excited that I will be getting more involved with the EITG soon. Cant say any more on that for now…

Congratulations Scott
I look forward to the day when people stop saying “EI? I thought they went away years ago” (yeah, I get that too).

“EI? I thought they went away years ago”

I usually get snikers and laughs from people as they say, “they still around”?

Sorry guys i think that is a sad reputation, less companies using the software less companies want to implement EIAS into their pipeline, lesas jobs for EI users, and is true EIAS has not good marketing skills.
Scott is in LA now so what a better place for some publicity, for an application that makes awesome renders but a lot of people forgets that the previs of Star Wars was done with EIAS. Almos nobody knows these things, mostly very few professaionals on the field that read into it, and want to know it all.
PS: I bought EI back when Batman was used for Camera Mapping, now every aplication is using these technique, even Photshop Vanishing Point, so we sahould get ahead with a new vision into the future reaching another market like the motion graphics not juast logo animation but use all these tools to create first class motiongraphics presentations, titles,Bumpers,ID,etc.

My review is definately a quick history lesson and much more of a “welcome back EIAS”
welcome back to the hi end 3d animation game. Why welcome back? I feel for many it disappeared. The fact is, we have survived the ‘Play’ years and dollar for dollar we have a pretty good case to be made for giving us a try again. V7 has given us a number of hi end capabilities that bring EI at least “into the conversation” when it comes to the feature wars.
I obviously give the character animation features to the competition. Let maya, max, xsi, and Cinema fight for those users. The nice thing about the review is, when it appears, it will be seen by a ton of people. There is no BIG headline like cgtalk had for Brians review, there is a header. But the cool thing is that the cow sends out a newsletter both digitally
and in print to hundreds of thousands of users with the review on it. So its reach is decieving. Same with any tutorials and how to’s.

I may call on some loyal EI users to possibly contribute their tips and tricks etc in an effort
to get as much press as possible… this is a fluid situation, but a nice start. I hope I don’t
disappoint anyone with my review, its my true feelings and thats all I can write with
integrity.
