Filling a bowl with macaroni

#1

Seems simple right, but it appears there are a couple of limitations

  1. No self collisions?

  2. Particles use bounding box center to collide with deflectors?

I know max is limited, but com’on, if this is the case then thats pretty bad lol. ideas?

running max 2009 btw.

#2

max native tools: reactor…
thats why there are plugins like physx which is free!
production plugins that cost money: Particle Flow Box#2, RayFire and TP for rigid bodies.

#3

…and the cloth and hair modifiers

#4

ok so i have a pflow event, how do i attach it to a rigid body collection? I tried using mesher but that doesn’t work.

Kind of newby at this stuff

#5

SimCloth might actually be a great idea! for RBD stuff i find it easier to handle then the cloth modifier shipping with Max.

#6

cant use plugins, need to use max out of the box. LOL

#7

have fun LOL

#8

Max ships with Cloth

May I ask why? This is akin to trying to pound in a nail with a screwdriver when there is a perfectly good hammer within hands reach. Simcloth if free

But yeah, you need soft body simulations

EDIT: ah I was thinking spaghetti not macaroni.

#9

because i work at a low end company. lol!

But if its free i will try it. And im sure ill be back in this thread to bug you guys.

If I’m not totally wrong, you’re talking about Simcloth done by Chaosgroup. Here you go…
